DESCRIPTION: Prerequisite IFSM 300 or permission of the instructor. This course covers the manner in which a project is planned, scheduled and controlled.
A systems approach to planning and implementation is presented and used by students for their final project. Details of project management such as; the project manager, planning, resource allocation, budgeting, controlling, etc. are presented.
The use of project management tools and techniques such as creating a Master Schedule using scheduling tools is covered.

IAW with the University of Maryland, University Catalog, Asian Division, 1992-93 and the Student Handbook. These cover essential information such as attendance, grading, make-up work and plagiarism.

MISCELLANEOUS:

* Students are expected to use word processing, spreadsheet, database and other computer programs as required to support the course. For the most part, assignments can be completed on any type of computer with appropriate software. The university computer lab makes equipment and software available at some locations. * Assignments are due as specified for turn in on the course schedule. Missed assignments may be considered for submission, if the instructor is informed prior to the class in which the assignment is due. If the instructor agrees that materials may be turned after the due date a loss of one letter grade is automatic (prior to grading). * All materials will be completed on a computer unless otherwise specified.

SECURITY: Individuals accessing any computer system described will be required to adhere to current guidelines and regulations as prescribed by the host administrator, e.g. 18th Wing CS/SCM (Air Force), or Regional Automated Services Center (RASC), Marine Corps.
Individuals shown to be abusing the system will have all access privileges revoked immediately. In the case of a student enrolled in a distance education option this will mean automatic dismissal from the current, and future distance education courses, and a letter explaining the decision forwarded to the individual, and their immediate commander.
For staff and faculty system access will be terminated and a letter explaining the decision forwarded to the individual from the Area Director.
