PHILANTHROPY
|
|
Sigma Theta Psi's National Philanthropy is the AMERICAN
CANCER SOCIETY focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness. Each
of our chapters has an annual philanthropy event. Our event,
at the Founding Chapter is an annual Basket Auction were each
sister creates a themed basket which is then given to the highest
bidder. Along with the basket goodies, each basket also comes
with 2 hours of community service work done in the name of the
winner. We have raised over $1500 at our auction, which was
then donated to fight the fight against breast cancer.
Nationally,
we also participate in educating the community on breast cancer,
as well as, participating in the Avon Walk for a Cure and
Relay for Life, which is put on by the American Cancer society.

COMMUNITY
SERVICE

Sigma
Theta Psi also volunteers at various community service events.
Through out the year we volunteer with the YMCA, MACSA, Food
drives and clothing donations.
In
the past we have Adopted A Park, Adopted a School, participated
in the AIDS Walk and volunteered for various schools and the
Girl Scouts.
