Syllabus
Note:  Everything that is underlined is a link to a different page; just click on the words to move to that page.  The journal questions are located on the page with the title of the work.
 
Think of the scheduled readings as my "wish list."  Depending upon class discussion and the amount of time each takes, the reading assignments may be adjusted accordingly.  While I hope that we will be able to complete all of the readings listed here, I do understand that it may not be possible.  In other words, don't panic -- this schedule is not written in stone!
All reading assignments should be completed by Monday of the week in which they will be discussed.

Last day for a full refund of nonresident fees.
September 8
Last day to drop classes without a grade of "W."
Refund deadline for California residents
September 15
Last day to add, change grade option, or change to/from audit without paying $20 late fee
September 22
Last day of late registration, last day to add classes, and last day to declare audit and option changes.
November 14
Final deadline to withdraw from classes with a grade of "W" for serious and compelling reasons.
December 12
Last day of class instruction.  Last day to turn in completed graduation check forms for undergraduate students planning to graduate in June 1998 or August 1998.
December 15 - 20
Semester examinations.
January 5
Semester ends.  Grades due in records office by 12 noon.  Effective date of graduation for those completing requirements.
January 20 - 21
Fall 1997 grade reports mailed to students.
