Great Places to Visit on the Web (IMHO)

Mike's Wrestling Obsession

ouch

As mentioned on my Friends page, Mike is obsessed with pro wrestling, even going to the point of creating a backyard league of wrestlers in Hays.  The stuff they do is quite real, as you can see from the picture--Mike is the guy on the roof inflicting the damage with the window screen.  Incidentally, the ref is my old chum Mario, whose dad operates Hays' adult novelty store.  Anyway, for all the details on Hays Championship Wrestling check out Mike's site.

Jayhawk Basketball--When Mike's not obsessed with wrestling he's obsessed with Jayhawk basketball.  Check this site out for all the info on our great team.  Go Jayhawks!  Let's try not to choke this year!

Amber's Wonderful Hockey Sites

Friends of Forsberg Homepage--I think Amber is almost as obsessed with hockey as Mike is with wrestling.  This site has a lot of info about Avs star Peter Forsberg.  It's won a lot of awards that I can only dream of.

Friends of Avalanche Homepage--More of the same hockey stuff except covers all aspects of the Avalanche.

Other Personal Web Pages

Jake Sewell--Jake is also a Beloit KU student, albeit a few years older than me.  His great site is full of oddities and amusement.
Du's World--Yet another Beloit KU'er, althought DuWayne's life has at least been somewhat interesting with him serving in South Korea and all.  Learn all about it at his great site.

News and Politics

Fox News--The media source that I believe gives the most balanced coverage.
The Onion--A lovely webzine that covers all sort of odd news items.  Not for the easily offended!

The Good
RushOnline--Not Rush's official site (there isn't one) but a great
introduction to all things conservative and Rushian, which I
  mostly agree with.
The Bad
The ACLU--Come see how this supposed guarantor of civil
liberties has become obsessed with power.  Great misreader of
the First Amendment.  Freedom of religion?  What's that?
The Ugly
Governor Jesse Ventura's Home Page--I don't agree with
everything Jesse the Mind has to say, but he has a lot of
interesting ideas for Minnesota and the country.

Anything and Everything Music Related

Harmony Central--A great resource for upstart musicians.  Covers every topic imaginable, from equipment to playing technique.  Linked to the now pretty much defunct Online Guitar Archive, thank you very much Harry Fox Agency, Upholders of Nonsensical Copyright Laws.
Pepper Music Network--Whether you're a guitarist, choir/band/orchestra director, or professional zither player, chances are you will find whatever music you are looking for here, not without a small fee of course.
The Freebird Foundation--An organization dedicated to the memory and survival of Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Lots of info about the band, both new and old, and current activities of the organization.
Southern Rock Guitar Homepage--Owned by a German who knows his southern rock.  LOTS of tablature from Skynyrd, Allman Brothers and the like.  The site is half German/half English and should be understandable to any English speaker.
Musician's Friend--Great online catalog for ordering all sorts of music instruments and production equipment.

Rock...Chalk...Jayhawk...KU

The University Daily Kansan--Well I'm now an editorial board member, trying to work my way up.  It sure isn't the best student newspaper but it's something.
The University Of Kansas Bands--I simply have to plug the KU band.  A great site with information over every KU band, as well as audio samples of our fight songs.

University of Kansas Official Home Page--Scads of information for KU students, prospective students, or anyone just interested in learning about college life in the 90s.
Jayhawk Sports--Basketball season is upon us!  Finally we can forget our football team's woes and anticipate a let-down in March!

Those are all the links I can think of for now.  I will add more to my Interests page as it develops.
