A Message From Dr. Jim Watson, Your Chiropractor:
Matters of HEALTH are one of the most important decisions you will ever make for yourself and your family. I pray that this site will assist you to make wise and informed choices.
It is well known that many factors play a role in maintaining and improving your physical health: Spiritual Wellness, proper nerve flow, good nutrition, proper amount of real salt and plenty of pure water to avoid dehydration, rest, exercise, wise dental and homeopathic, osteopathic, or medical choices. Chiropractic addresses the nerve system as a primary factor in health.
My purpose is, therefore, to help your body remove nerve interference. You can then work toward your physical potential. I strive to present myself in such a way that Christ is glorified and I thank God for providing me with whatever abilities I may have.
Having low-back pain ever since I was a child, I expected to have it for my entire life. My mother was an "old-school" Registered Nurse who did not believe in pain killers except as a last resort. I will be eternally grateful for her wisdom. If I had been put on pain-killers as a youngster, I probably would have had major kidney or liver damage by the time I was in my 30's. That is how old I was when I first visited Dr. Curtis Horton, a chiropractor in Springfield, Missouri, and received my first adjustment.
After that first, painless, upper cervical adjustment ALL of my low back pain STOPPED!! The pain I had ALWAYS felt up until that moment!! That pain has never returned. Eventually, several other health related problems also improved! After that first adjustment, I knew that even though I was a professional educator and retail manager, I eventually would become a Chiropractor!! So, after 13 years of retail management & Training, it was off to school again, working on a second degree!
I first had to become a Chiropractor (i.e. Doctor of Chiropractic, D.C.). I already had four years of undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri. It then took two more years of pre-requisite studies, and four more years of intense training in such subjects as: Anatomy, Physiology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Nutrition, Pathology, Bacteriology, Infectious Diseases, Psychiatry, and, last but most importantly, the CHIROPRACTIC related courses. Near completion of those studies, I served my internship at the Chiropractic College Health Center. My Doctor of Chiropractic degree is from
Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic
in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
My post graduate studies in Atlas Orthogonal have focused on the cervical spine (neck area). I was fortunate to work with Dr. Wayne G. Laney, Greenville (Taylors), SC and gain experience in the various aspects of this specialized field. Dr. Laney is truly a master of the Chiropractic technique, and has over 20 years of practice using this method of subluxation correction. This investment of time has equipped me to use my wealth of knowledge in using NON-FORCED methods of treating chiropractic problems SAFELY, EFFECTIVELY, and without the use of harmful drugs or surgery.
If you have health related questions, please feel free to e-mail, write, or phone this office and we will do our best to answer your questions in a timely fashion.
Sharing the Vision,
Jim Watson, D.C.
