These are photos from 1999 and before.
Well, it was an outstanding season for Virginia Tech, even though they didn't beat FSU at the Sugar Bowl. There's been a lot of media hype about us, as you can see above. And I bet there will be as much, if not more, next season.
Garbage and Lit came to Tech for their MTV Campus Invasion Tour in November
1999. It kicked ass!!! Garbage is one of my favorite bands, and they put on a fantastic show. We were in the 5th row. I took a lot of pictures without the flash, but very few came out because I was being jostled around. This is the sharpest one I took (in case you're an idiot, that's Shirley Manson of Garbage).
I took this before Lit started playing... then the security people told me not to take any more flash pictures or they'd take my camera away. And since my camera was damned expensive, I didn't want to argue! :)
This is my house in Herndon, Virginia. As you can tell by his shirt, that's my dad standing
in front of it.
For both freshman and sophomore year I lived in
O'Shaughnessy Hall,
which has many affectionate nicknames, such as O'ShagNasty, O'SoNasty, O'Shag, O'Shit, and
O'Fag. It's a great dorm to live in, because of its convenient location on campus and its
(usually) quiet halls. Freshman year there was NO grass
in front of it, just dirt. O'Shag became co-ed sophomore year, because
that freshman class was the first ever to
have a higher percentage of women than men.
This is my guitar. It's a Fender Stratocaster,
Squier series. I've been playing guitar for around 7 years. I'm OK, I guess... I'm no Clapton,
but I can listen to most songs and figure out how to play then pretty quickly. I've never joined a band
or anything, but maybe I should. I haven't played much lately at all, but I'm
getting back into it.
