In 1997, Della Rocca was struck with tendinitis of the shoulder and was involved in a blockbuster trade with the Fisheads. The trade sent Jared to the Fishheads for Chuck Adams, Jerry "Cupake" Della Rocca, a first round draft pick, and future considerations. Jared still feels he is worth more.
