Pics of the Delta Area
These Pics Were Taken In The Delta Junction, Alaska Area
Granted, I'm not the best photographer
Not much Delta Junction, Alaska Info occurs here nore is there any link to Delta Junction info.
This pic is from the Summit Lake on a windy Day
It was windy and the brush in the background was all folded sideways and there were whitecaps on the lake surface. Seeing that my camera sucks, you can't see these cool effects.
This Is My House After the Donnely Flats Fire in 1999
The crew was very incompetent at protecting houses so I had to run a sprinkler on top of the roof. Some neighbors had some spruce trees in the 100 year old age-range cut down. They had planned to use these trees for logs for a cabin when they got land, well, now incompetent BLM fire crews destroyed their dreams.
These are balsam poplar trees in my backyard
Of Interior Alaska trees, these are my favorite. They have somewhat thick bark, big dark green leaves, and a sweet aroma that I can enjoy all summer. Also, they're still great to look at in the winter time. I've nursed these trees since they were 2 feet tall in '91, now they are over 30' tall and growing at a rate of 2' per year. :)
A Great thing about Summer in Alaska is the Awesome Sunsets when there are clouds out. This is just too pretty for me. :)
* * * * * * *
These phenomenal sunsets occur in Late May or August when the sun sets almost exactly in the north. If there are trace clouds in that area or in the exactly south direction, instead of becoming white or grey, they become blue, purple, and pink, depending on their water content and angle to the sun.
More pictures are coming soon. Just be patient with me, huh? Film development is expensive!
I'd ask you for viewer picture contribution, eh, but I'm gonna keep this as strictly pics taken by me, the one and only.
