What is Hey! Communications? |
It is two pre-graduate public relations students who do public relations and communications work just for the benefit of gaining valuable experience, and putting their skills, creativity and vision to use. Tips and honourariums are welcome, of course, but not necessary. |
Where do these students go to school? |
At Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They're all enrolled in the highly reputable Creative Communications programs. As part of their curriculum, they're taken courses in advertising, journalism, radio, television, marketing, and business communications. But both members of Hey! specialize in the field of public relations. |
How was Hey! formed? |
The radio program Definitely Not the Opera on CBC Radio One came up with a unique project for which they needed people with public relations backgrounds (who would work for free). They approached the Creative Communications program and voila...Hey! Communications. |
What is Hey! working on now? |
The two members of Hey! are involved with communications projects for different organizations in the not-for-profit, government and corporate sectors. Activities might include organizing events, writing promotional literature, designing newsletters and other print materials, or any other project that falls within the realm of public relations and communications. As a pair, the largest project they've undertaken is for Definitely Not the Opera. |

What can Hey! do for my organization? |
Pretty much anything. Looking for someone to develop and implement a fund-raising campaign? How about an awareness campaign? Hey! can do both with distinctiveness. Because both members are all still students, their ideas are fresh, creative, and visionary. But if you want to put Hey! to work for you, you'd better act quickly. They can't work for free forever. Someone has to pay off the student loans. |
