Why Do I Care?
And the Big Question

As you can see, Mike is a fairly average Canadian.  Maybe he's not the
World's Most Average Canadian.
Who can tell?  Averageness is a difficult thing to measure.

In any case, when Definitely Not the Opera had their contest, Mike was the most average Canadian who competed for the title.

Now,  the Big Question.  Why would he even want the title?  Why would he want to be known for how average he is.  Well, Mike's not completely certain, but he knows this much:

As North Americans, we are enchanted with the media and the celebrities it creates.  Why are they famous?  Because they're on the Big Screen, TV, or making millions at some sport most of us can't play.

                                      What about the Average Canadian?

There's a lot to celebrate there too.  Take Mike, for instance.  He's so average he's almost forgettable.  But would you believe he founded a rowing club at Laurentian University? Mike - an average Canadian.  Would you believe he's pursuing a Masters of Science Degree?  Mike - who could never get higher than a B+, no matter what.

Suddenly, Mike doesn't seem so average after all.  Is anyone?

At the dawn of a new millenium, Mike is asking you to join him in a celebration of the achievements of Average Canadians across the country.

We're all worth it.
