Outstanding Services Awards are organized by the Hong Kong Student Services Association and sponsored by the Innovations Fund for the award of twenty outstanding services awards for full-time undergraduate studnets of the 8 tertiary institutions, namely, the University of Hong Kong, the Chineses University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Lingnan College (Hong Kong) and the Hong Kong Shue Yan College.
To encourage students to develop leadership in the provision services to the community.

Selection will also be based on recommendations of a referee who knows best the applicant's record in provision of services e.g. a secondary school principal, teacher, lecturer, or supervisor.
The Awards will be administered by an Committee on Outstanding Services Awards appointed by the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Student Services Association (HKSSA) and the Hong Kong Outstanding Tertiary Students' Services Association (HKOTSSA). HKSSA is a non-profit making organization formed by student affairs workers of the tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. HKOTSSA is established and run by the awardees of this awards. The donor or her representative will be an ex-officio member on the Committee on Outstanding Services Awards.
Selection Panels co-opted by the Committee will be responsible for assessing applications, interviewing shortlisted candidates as required and making the final decision about the awards.
