As a 40 year old father of four and a returning collegiate student, I have often been frustrated with not being directly involved with activism as I have considered. I am shopping around, you might say, for a local chapter of AI to join. The only problem s that I reside in Columbus. Imagine my shock to discover that OSU does not have a chapter, nor is there one within the county!

I'm impressed with this site. Remarkably few Americans are aware of human rights abuses in their own country. I'd like to call attention overseas though, to an issue that has recently been swept under the rug. A war-torn country far from recovery from 994 genocide, Rwanda remains in need of Amnesty members' help. Visit our page - dedicated to the crisis ongoing in Central Africa. Murder remains a day-to-day reality, almost a banality in this part of the world. Spread the word, and we can stop it.

Your site is excellent! With respect to AI's activities, I think more focus should be put on pariah states like Iran and Pakistan and the state-sponsored terrorism they conduct on their neighbors and enemies. With respect to Kashmir, it is true that Ind a has made a few mistakes, but one should not neglect all sides of the picture, including the even more violently fanatic Islamist groups Harkat ul-Ansar (supported by, you guessed it, **PAKISTAN**) and the Jammu-Kashmir Islamic Front; groups like these d more collective killing and greater damage to the common good all over the world in a year than India has ever done in 50 years. I believe that while human rights is of paramount and grave concern, one cannot simply discount the entire geopolitical natu e of world problems for their pursuit. These aren't black-and-white issues, and they cannot be thus labeled simply on the basis of a few criteria. I greatly commend and applaud AI in its efforts to decrease human suffering throughout the world, but also see the need for it and organizations like to be more broad in their orientation to the problems they deal with. AI and its supporters must keep up their vigilance and heroism in trying to curb these tragic infringements on basic human rights, but must a so widen the focus to gain a greater understanding of the full picture of these concerns which affect us all.
