And through the dark surroundings,
And past the forlorn shore,
I see the brightness shining
Of what friendship holds in store.
Between the trees in the hazy mist,
Over hills and rocks and glen,
I bask in the warmth of the knowledge,
That you are all my friends.
It's been said that you can tell the quality of a man by
the company he keeps. If that is true, then I must be the
best of men. My friends are just incredible; at times, I
wonder just how it is possible that I came across so many.
First and foremost come my high school friends. By far,
you all must be the best group of people I've ever met. Some
of my best memories come from 3am conversations at Denny's
and Lyon's. You all have been with me through thick and
thin and we've always been there for each other. I thank
you all from the bottom of my heart.
- Jonboy: Many long nights have we spent, musing
over the minds of women. And we're still without
answers... but, oh, what fun we've had...
- Wally: I stand in awe of your artistic abilities.
You've always been the (overly) generous one of our
group... and that's why you keep finding money in your
car.
- Zinger: You, by far, have got to be the most
insecure god I've ever met because you keep repeating
that phrase over and over to yourself...
- Dustin: You certainly make life interesting.
It never ceases to amaze me when something completely
random and diabolical crosses your mind. By the way,
I never did get to read the Book of Eucharist...
- Dan: Well, my technical friend, we've been
through quite a bit together. You really must remember:
snowballs can only bring you pain...
- Jay: Hyperactive ball of competitive energy. There
was a reason I never tried to cover you when we played
basketball together...
- Tin: Kairos was one of the greatest experiences of
my life, and I'm glad you were part of it. I'll never
forget coming over from Vietnam on that boat... oh, wait.
That was you.
- Cat: There were times when I really needed someone
to be there for me. You always were. Thanks for always
being my friend and my moonlight.
As for the rest, well, there are so many names to mention. The
Graham crowd; the McLaughlin crowd; the Davis crew; the Anime
Club; APSU; every other person I've met randomly around campus;
had I the time, I could not do you all justice. Suffice it to
say, you have all touched my heart. Without your kind smiles,
generous support, and heartfelt warmth, I never would have been
able to survive as long as I have. I, and my sanity, thank you
all.
You my friend, I will defend
And if we change, well, I love you anyway
