First, an explanation. This is the 391 posts that make up 1 yahoo club that is pretty much dead after about a year of sometimes funny conversation. There were primarily three posters, an LSU fan, a MSU fan and an Arkansas fan. The beginning is kind of slow and boring, but keep reading.

The Road to Omaha
Marlins2004 (13/male/Miami)
1/12/00 5:54 pm
Welcome, This is the Yahoo! Message Board for The Road to Omaha community.
shortstop43 (21/F/Alabama) 5/22/00 1:53 am The University of South Alabama Jaguars are the Cinderella story of the 2000 season, coming back from a struggling season (27-31) to win the SunBelt Tournament Championship for the ninth time. Great pitching from Daniel Head, Layne Meyer, Joe Long, and Will Conway along with strong defense and smart offense from Timmy Merrity, Brantley Griffin, Kyle Stanky, and Tony Piccotti, as well as the rest of the Jaguar lineup, came together this week to create an undefeated run for the automatic bid. Look out for this team because whatever they'd been lacking all season has been found and is being used in full force. For the whole story, visit the SunBelt Conference home page at www.sunbeltsports.org.
shortstop43 (21/F/Alabama) 5/22/00 1:59 am The SunBelt Conference is definitely making a name for itself in this year's Regional tournaments with the University of South Alabama stealing a bid, the University of Louisiana-Lafayette hosting a tournament, the University of New Orleans fighting for one, and Florida International University deserving a go. Odds seem to be against four SBC teams getting a bid, but anything is possible, and if the NCAA powers that be know what they're doing, all four teams will be in action next weekend. They all deserve to be there without a doubt. The real question is: Which team will give the SunBelt the most to brag about this year? Who will go BEYOND Regionals? We'll just wait and see. Good luck to the SunBelt Conference!!
Arkansas Baseball site charlie15_79 (20/F/Fayetteville, AR) 7/17/00 4:35 pm This is mainly for Hog fans but other college/baseball fans may enjoy it as well. There is a new website that makes it easier to keep up with Hog baseball players when they move on to the minor/major leagues: The Hogs in the Minors site. here is the link: http://www.geocities.com/minorshogs Check it out.
Its All About the BOX dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 7/29/00 9:49 pm LSU LSU allrighty tiger fans are you ready for a repeat after Skip has allready picked his successor in Smoke. I am ready to kick off yet another exciting year at the Mecca of college baseball ALEX BOX STADIUM in Baton Rouge
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/9/00 10:36 am The Schedule for the Razorbacks 2001 season is up: http://www.geocities.com/minorshogs/crn.html Check it out! I can't wait for BASEBALL!
msubulldog_70005 10/9/00 7:09 pm Looks pretty competative for a young team, although that March 30-April 1 series is a sure three losses! The SEC has 5 team with legit shots at winning it all: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and my Maroon Bulldogs. I think the Hawgs are still too young and that SEC West is probably...hell, definitely, the toughest six teams in the country. Ole Miss hired another ex-LSU player, so that program is probably on the rise, too. C'mmon February!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/10/00 12:01 pm Remember this: The Razorbacks won the SEC in 1998 and finished in last place in 1999. You never know what is going to happen. You can't assume that the Hogs have no legit chance to win the SEC. We have Charlie Issacson back after a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the entire season last year. He was a freshman all-american two years ago and was the ace of the staff. We have a lot more players coming back this season than last, but we do have a weakness at the catcher position. Alabama, I've heard, is pretty thin and has had some off-season problems. Don't know all the specifics, though. My Hogs will contend.
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 10/23/00 10:01 am Yes here we go again battling for that stupid ugly Golden boot of the two states. We wooped them chumps last year in the VALLEY and with this year's team on such a high we will stroll right into the state of Slick Willy Clinton and bring that stupid trophy back to where it belongs in the trophy room of THE LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY!
Re: NOV. 25 LSU vs. ARK. charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/23/00 10:30 am Are you on crack? Please. You can have the stupid boot. Just like last year. You won the boot, but while we were beating Texas' ass in the Cotton bowl, you chumps were sitting at home eating some craw dads. Hey, congrats on that UAB game. Good show! I'll take a cotton bowl trophy over the boot any day. This is a place to discuss college baseball, hence "the Road to Omaha." Take your football discussions and your pipe dreams back to Lousyana.
NOV. 25 LSU vs. ARK. msubulldog_70005 10/25/00 11:25 pm I just love it when the bottom feeders go at it. But Charlie, ya know, the coonass does have a point. Ar-kansas is in the SEC now. You have to get over this Texas phobia. A win over an SEC foe, even Vandy or UK, beats a win over Texas. Now, back to the baseball thing. The '98 championship was a fluke. Ar-kansas baseball has been a HUGE disappointment for nine seasons. I think ol' Norm is 99% of your problem. Again, this is the SEC. Aside from UK, and the stereo Tennessees, everyone is decent. Alabama will be loaded, trust me. Wells dipped nicely into to the Juco pool. Auburn maybe the weak link in the West, they lost a lot of talent via the draft. Those morons at Ole Miss finally snagged a baseball real coach in Bianco. I think 10-11 losses might win the West. Oh, yeah, that boot thing is pretty ugly. Nice job by that Little Rock jeweler. WHO LET THE DAWGS OUT! MSU! Mississippi State 2000 SEC West Football Champs Mississippi State 2000 SEC West basketball Champs Mississippi State 2000 SEC West Baseball Champs ROCK THE POUND! MAROON! WHITE! BULLDOG BLITZ! GOT SOME DAWGS UP IN HERE! WOOF! WOOF!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/26/00 12:01 pm Plese sober up, dawg. MSU has won nothing! At least LSU has some room to talk smack, since they are defending champs in baseball. You are not defending champs in ANYTHING. Hey, it's good to be hopeful though. Of course, when you don't win it makes you look like an ass. And guess what, we all know that this isn't the SWC. We have been in the SEC for 8 years now. Get off it.
msubulldog_70005 10/29/00 9:19 pm Now, now Porky. Don't you go defending those swamp-living, cousin-marrying, French-speaking purple and gold losers! Glad to see you know how long you've been evicted from the Texas League, now learn UT isn't in Austin but Knoxville. A win over the Horns is hollow if you can not whip Auburn. If you go check out the record book in baseball, you'll see MSU stamped all over that hog hat baseball team. We set LS&U up for their run at Omaha. I'll give 'em their "deaux", five titles are pretty impressive. Just recall that Georgia won the first SEC National Title in 1990 and that State is just (barely) behind LSU in the number of trips to the promised land in Nebraska. Heck, just for funzies, and not know who's going to have those miracle mid-year juco enrollees, I'll call the SEC right now: WEST 1) MISSISSIPPI STATE 2) LS& Who 3) Alabama 4) [gag] Ole Miss 5) Ar-kansas 6) Auburn EAST 1) Georgia 2) South Carolina 3) Florida 4) Tennessee 5) Vandorkbilt 6) Kentucky NCAA Bids (8): MISSISSIPPI STATE, LS& Why, Alabama, [yeck!] Ole Miss, Ar-kansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and them Gay-tors of Florida. Have a good win this weekend v. Ole Miss, because on Novemeber 18 you are going see a BBq'd Hawg butchered by the DAWGS (y'all recall JACKIE SHERRILL from Texas A&M? When y'all were losing to Texas, I think he was also gettin' in on the Pork pull!)!
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 10/30/00 3:47 pm Where was MSU a few nights ago? Definately not in Death Valley!! And Arkans-ass! baseball! baseball! We are simply the best at baseball year after year. We may have lost some huge stars but with the addition of Linden from U of Washington that fills in some big gaps. Not to mention the most solid middle infield in the nation w/ Theriot and Fontenot. Also have Wally Pontiff returning. What about our solid pitching staff we will have this year. We will pull off the undefeated march through the SEC Tourny again as well as another cake walk to and through OMAHA! You know why cause all the Tigers are wanting to send the best college baseball coach of all time off on the most fitting way possible. Then steps up Smoke Laval who will also get it done. LSU BEAT BAMA THIS WEEK BERTMAN IS A GOD!!!!!!!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/30/00 7:49 pm Arkans-ass? Wow, Tiger, your wit astounds me. That's almost as good as Ar-Kansas. Let me guess, you graduated from LSU? Must be cause your just so gosh durn smart.
msubulldog_70005 10/31/00 2:57 am And you must a product of Ar-kansas! The word "because" is one word. Is everything in Ar-kansas ATNA*? *All Talk No Action? Don't throw stones if you can't spell! LSWho & Pork Chop College= idiots of a feather!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/31/00 9:20 am OH MY GOD! A typo. Look, I think one thing we can all agree on is that Mississippi (see, I can spell) is dead last in education. At least we don't ring cowbells, you hick.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/31/00 12:49 pm << Heck, just for funzies, and not know who's going to have those miracle mid-year juco enrollees, I'll call the SEC right now: WEST 1) MISSISSIPPI STATE 2) LS& Who 3) Alabama 4) [gag] Ole Miss 5) Ar-kansas 6) Auburn EAST 1) Georgia 2) South Carolina 3) Florida 4) Tennessee 5) Vandorkbilt 6) Kentucky>> Well, heck, just as long as you're objective about it. By the way, what's with the gay-tor bit? You a homophobe or what?
msubulldog_70005 10/31/00 5:41 pm Heck no, we just all know those gawd-awful blue and orange things are just happy, gay types. You've been watching "Deliverance", haven't you? As for my picks, since 1960 NO ONE in the SEC has more titles than Mississippi State.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 10/31/00 7:37 pm <> In what sport or sports? Do you mean SEC titles or National titles? (is cow-chip throwing a NCAA santioned sport? Because if it was, you guys would be consensus #1 every year!) Deliverance? If we're gonna start connecting Deliverance to Arkansas, then lets think of things we can connect to Mississippi. Hmm. Racists. KKK. Lynchings. Hicks. Cowbells. Way to go.
msubulldog_70005 11/1/00 4:25 pm Ppppppporky, since this is a baseball board, it would appear obvious to anyone of semi-intellect that the comment would be, in fact, about baseball. Hicks? Coming from someone in Ar-kansas? Please. Isn't Ar-kansas state motto "2.1 million people, 3 last names"? Making fun of cowbells? Seems that Texas team that usually beats you like a step child rings them, too. So logic dictates, and facts back it up, that team with bells beat the crap out of Ar-kansas on a regular basis. Bear with me, allow me to take it one step further. I believe that Ar-kansas fans cheer by CALLING THE HOGS! And you call us hicks? I'll make a deal. You call us "hicks" and we will call Ar-kansas "our girl". That seems fair, doesn't, Miss? When Ar-kansas can hang with MSU on the baseball field, you lemme know. So far it's been our series and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. So you go and play with your Cross Country team and rant and rave over that, OK, honey? Baseball is a man's sport. Who Let the Dawgs Out? MSU! That's who!
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/1/00 7:53 pm Arkans-ass finished dead last in the SEC west last year in baseball and the only team worse than you in the whole conference was Vandy which is saying alot. It also looks like the same finish in the SEC west in football. MSU when was your last chance a baseball team had at a national championship and how many have you won within the past 10 years I know not even close to 5. So what if you finished 15th in the nation. All 15th means is that LSU is 14 places higher than you. By the way Jackie Sherril should move to Baton Rouge since his favorite school is there in his career (including A&M BLAHH) that chump is 2-10. Despite MSU's 1 point victory last year they haven't defeated the mighty Purple and Gold since a day before forever. This year would not be any different. We rushed for over 200 yards with a much smaller line and against a team that allowed only 24 yards rushing per game. As for LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY. The Bayou Bengals have one obstacle in their way through Atlanta and that is Auburn. Auburn is the only team that can stop us because of there victory over us earlier. That is out of our hands but as far as second we have that wrapped up. Baseball this year will be nothing unusual. The Gorilla Ballers from the Bayou will have the same dominace as we have had since the arrival of the Greatest coach of all time BERTMAN!!!
msubulldog_70005 11/3/00 9:26 pm Another "brilliant" posting from the swamp. Do you people ever take grammar or spelling? OK, Boudreaux, how DID LS&Who do against State at the Box last season? 1 out of 3, and we blasted your picthing staff out of the park all weekend. Admit it, Frenchie, State is the closest thing, year-in/year-out, to rival LS&Where has in baseball. Mississippi State is ALWAYS a threat to win the National Title. Unfortunately, we manage to screw up in either the regional or in Omaha. Also, when a regional is held in Starkville, we do not have the luxury of having every directional school in the state showing up; LSU does. Face it, the NCAA cuts LSU slack when picking sights and teams for regionals. If LSU has to play a Super Regional outside of Baton Rouge, they are swept. Remember a trip to Tuscaloosa just two years ago? Save the football comments for a football board (heck, you and I both know State is going to win the West, though). Cajun, I will give props on one point, the Vandy-Ar-kansas line. There is one difference though, Vanderbilt is tough at home. Ar-kansas just has a screwed up infield at their place! Say, Pppppporky, why does Ar-kansas have a turf infield and grass outfield? I figured you Pigs would like roll around in the slop everywhere! BULLDOG BLITZ! MSU #1! WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? MSU! THAT'S WHO!
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/3/00 9:42 pm Where did such a cute woman as you go bad? Calling people from Mississippi "hicks"? Exactly how many people live in Bowie County, Texas? 50,000? Nearest big city is in Louisiana, for goodnes sake! Probably gonna blame it on that Texarkana water? And you like Raffy Palmeiro? Care to guess where he went to college? On a serious note, the surest ticket to a sports related job is via a Masters in Sports Management from the University of Ohio, in Athens, Ohio. That is where the best and brightest come from. If you can't pull that one, try the NCAA on-line. There are entry level positions listed. Unfortunately, the pay isn't great and you'd most likely start out at some place like Wisconsin-Superior (bring a jacket, winter is an 8 month event). Try writng Arkansas grads in places for help. Ken Hatfield is football coach at Rice, they are semi-big time. OK, enough advice. Back to yanking chains: NOVEMBER 18, 2000: BULLIES KICK Pppppppppporky!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/4/00 10:11 am <> According to Baseball America, Arkansas has the #1 college baseball facility in the country. 2nd place is Hawaii. I've never been to MSU, so I can't comment on your field, but I don't remember seeing it on the top 25 list. And we have turf infield and turf outfield. The whole thing is turf. Obviously you've never been to Arkansas to see a game, so I wonder where you get your facts? It's been raining all night and all day, so I'm looking foward to some mud at the football game today. I'm sure you'll be cheering for us since is Old Mrs. coming to town. Too bad its not on TV because it's MUDDY out there.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/4/00 8:21 pm <> Now, I didn't say that there were no hicks in Texarkana. As for the water, I haven't been back to east Texas in a while, so it must be this Ozark water. BTW, Liberty-Eylau beat New Boston this weekend. Thanks for the advice, but the prospect of more school at this point makes me sick. Except for those cheap student tickets, I can't take it any more. (We get to go to baseball games free, not a bad deal.) BTW again, you're link on your profile page is broken and your email link on your website is wrong. Just thought I'd let you know.
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/6/00 8:31 pm Year in and year out the number #1 facility for NCAA baseball other than Rosenblatt is The Box in Baton Rouge. What does baseball america know your field and stadium suck. Our stadium can seat more and after the addition in a few years will seat more in one game than you draw for a weekend series in Arkans-ass. You summed it up pretty nice though your team is so terrible and the environment is so lame they need to give tickets away to attract a crowd! THE BOX - THE MECCA OF COLLEGE BASEBALL!!!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/7/00 9:42 am Okay, so you can pack a bunch of drunk ass LS-who fans into the box and they can harass the other team and fans. congrats! At least we have a nice field, a nice stadium and class. LSU fans wouldn't know class if it bit em in the ass.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/7/00 5:57 pm When New Boston pass Hooks in size? I haven't been on US 82 in six years. Is Red River still open? We lived there forever, or so it seemed. We use to go see Texas High play Arkansas High. Wierd, wierd, wierd. Nice job against the Elder Miss. If you want a job done right, do it yourself! Geeze! I guess all that mud must have distracted them piggie. Snort, runt, snort, runt. LSU plays in a WPA toilet. LSU fans are front runners. MSU! MSU! MSU! Maroon! White! Bulldog Blitz!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/7/00 7:17 pm I haven't been back to T-town in a long time.Texas High/ARkansas High games were great. We always rooted for Arkansas High b/c we hated Texas High. Ok, so we didn't beat Ole miss in fball. You guys go ahead and win the West...as long as LSU doesn't. On another note...I waited in line for 1 and a half hours to vote today!!! And Fayetteville only has 50,000 people! How many people could possibly be in my precint? Seems like everybody in the city!
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/8/00 6:49 pm Couldn't vote that sound like a state problem. Wait that's right your state is a problem just look at Sticky Clinton. LSU's field and stadium is by far the best in the nation why do you think we have the best recruits and best team in all the land. Nothing concerning the program goes over Coach Bertman's head therefore the best coach makes damn sure he has the best field. Ole Miss has one chance to beat LSU this week and that is start ELI. Face it Ole Miss needs a Manning at the helm to have any chance. The only chance LSU has at not winning the west is if Auburn doesn't lose one of it's final two. It's just too bad Ole Miss hasn't beaten a worthy team in the conference. They beat Vandy, UK, and Arkansass (who hasn't done shit this year) that is showing real strenth. They lost to both Bama team including one that has a lame duck head coach. So I believe it is evident who will come out of the biggest redneck state in the land. None other than the BAYOU BENGALS. LSU LSU LSU LSU By the way MSU fans you can go put your obnoxious bells back where they belong around the neck of your cattle cause you will not be able to use them in Hotlanta
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/8/00 6:51 pm This club does have some shitty team fans but it could be worse we could have UF, Auburn, BAMA, FSU, A&M, or WhoLane fans.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/9/00 11:40 am Okay, lets leave Clinton out of this because everyone knows that only in Louisiana could David Duke run for Senate and actually get votes. No one in that shithole called Louisana can talk politics because everyone knows that is the dirtiest state in the country. LSU does not have the best stadium. We do. Back up your little claims. You do not have the best fans. I never heard of anybody going to LSU and saying, wow, those folks were just so nice and everything! They are just TOPS! They always say, they through bottles, they through popcorn, they flipped me off, they cussed me in front of my kids.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/9/00 11:42 am This club sucks because we can't talk baseball because we have assholes like you that just want to talk shit. You can be proud of your teams victories without being a total dick about it, you know. Offer some intelligent thoughts or shut the hell up.
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/9/00 10:58 pm Damn straight when you come onto our turf it is going to be a war. Therefore bring out all your weapons and armor. Bring your beer bottles, bring your fists, and if you can't deal with it don't bring your kids. Our team has a warlike attitude with every opponent and it is the duty for every fan to back our team up in the war, therefore go to war with the other fans. We didn't earn the reputation as having the most intimidating baseball and football stadiums in America cause we have sissy fans like them Arkansass people. The only reason they are fans is cause their team sucks so much they have to give tickets so they can win some fans. GEAUX TIGERS # 1 as allways
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/10/00 9:42 am You are not making your school seem any better, do you realize that? Are you totally dense? There is this little thing called civility. There is nothing wrong with being civil to other people. You people act like animals, not humans. And nobody is intimidated by your little antics, people think you are a bunch of drunk morons. Is that what you want people to associate with LSU?
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/10/00 10:20 am Yes only in Tiger Stadium where the most loyal, biggest partying, and fun loving fans exist will two students jump the fence inbetween the 3rd and 4th quarters, run all the way across the field, stop in front of the Bama huddle, turn around and moon them son of a bitches. I love it. I damn straight know Arkans-ass fans wouldn't have the balls to do something like that. All them girl scouts ever do is sit on there asses with those studpid hog hats and creating the biggest smoke screen from all them nasty smokers.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/10/00 1:18 pm It's not about having balls you moron---it's about making a stupid moron out of yourself. What a jackass.
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/11/00 8:59 am COuld it be cause your fans have'nt had any national champions witin a reasonable amount of time exept for men's track and field. This is the SEC buddy you are not in your chump league anymore with all them Texans. If you wanna be an SEC fan learn the traditions and proper ways to be a fan. We have active fans that will be a 12th man by doing whatever we can do to help instead of just sitting on our asses for 60 minutes or 9 innings. We will beat you and our fans will do whatever it takes to help our team make your team fly the white flag in the war. GEAUX TIGERS BEAT THEM REBS
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/13/00 11:39 pm It comes down to this weekend. MSU plays the Sorry Sooies. May I congratulate the Pigs on that super first quarter in Knoxville? I was in Starkville, taking my last free days for 2000 watching MSU mop up the quiters from Alabama. However, I do see Ar-kansas having at least a 50/50 shot at winning...the toss. Gonna be big, bad, and ugly. And that just baseball! Jackie Sherrill for President! MSU! Maroon! White! Bulldog Blitz!
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/13/00 11:44 pm I just love the Louisiana "publick"! Idiots! I like ol' Bill, frankly. However, since you're all of 18 and probably in high school (pretty cool considering the age of graduation in this back water swamp is 17), you would not understand. I'm sure you have seen EVERY SEC ball park. I haven't been to the newbie parks in South Carolina and Ar-kansas, but I have have seen the rest. Auburn has the nicest park by far. And just to show how open minded I am, the University of Northeast Mississippi at Oxpatch, has the prettiest setting. Alex Box is a dump.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/13/00 11:48 pm Nice language, swampite. This club would be much better is the bandwagoning, front runnign LSUWho fans would jump off. You want proof of your front running? Just watch your basketball attendance this season. Now go pat yourself on that two point win over Alabama. Lemme see, Ar-kansas whipped bama by 7 or so, MSU knocked 'em off by 22. Yeah, you're the cats meow.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/13/00 11:50 pm Allways? Uh, huh. Louisiana education.
i, I Apologize ellisshoe456 (40/M/Midcity area, New Orleans) 11/14/00 12:24 am I've joined this board after reading a slew of incredibly stupid garbage mouth comments by a kid attending a college in the Carolinas under the guise of being an LSU fan. Please do not judge everyone pulling for LSU by this bad egg. In the big time sports, the SEC for example, wanna be fans are always jumping on board. Every school has poor fans. LSU has the best overall program in baseball, the proofs on the field. Miss State set the entire SEC up by the outstanding program Ron Polk established. Arkansas and their fans add a fire the league needed, calmed the Kentucky basketball fans downs, and gave LSU a natural season ending rival. I will be happy to take the bait and get down in it IF IT IS TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. This isn't life or death, sports should be fun. And SEC Baseball is fun, especially because it is the best college ball in the country.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/14/00 9:45 am << However, I do see Ar-kansas having at least a 50/50 shot at winning...the toss. Gonna be big, bad, and ugly> I have to agree, Dog. That Tenn game was the worst moment of my entire life. Okay, maybe not, but it was not a good day to be a Hawg fan. I think if MSU doesn't win by at least 5 TDs it will be an embarassment to your program. You know something, though--You never do know in the SEC. We could still win it. I don't think we will, especially since Robby Hampton probably won't start, but it's always possible. I just wanted to remind you of that before you shove your foot too far down your mouth. Just think of how big of an ass you will feel like if we did pull the upset. Hey, don't take offense to this, I'm only here to help you out because you are my T-town neighbor and you are stuck in New Orleans while I am here in beautiful Fayetteville (you really should come visit--just don't sit by me..lol) Later.
Apologize charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/14/00 9:48 am Don't worry. I know that not all LSU fans are jerks. I don't think that guy is really a jerk either, I'm just giving him a hard time. I visit the Lair pretty much every day and I realize that most LSU fans are pretty nice.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/17/00 6:03 pm It's cold, it's raining, it's sloppy! Never would play a game in this type weather (unless CBS mandiated the title game to be played in this crap), but it is football weather. And it's the kind for rooting around in! Yup, pig weather! Now, I do recall some po' ole lil' Ar-Kansas fan bemoaning the fact that any win under 35 points was a moral loss. I guess that type of SWC thinking held up when the Rice's and SMU's were on the table, but this is the big time. So, over here in real college sports land, a win is a win is a win. Us ex-New Bostonians like to think of ourselves as the guiding light for DeKalb. Now if you poor ol' Queen City and Atlanta wanna-be's can find yourselves about 23 miles due west on US 82, hop on. The first cheer you need to learn is "Who Let The Dawgs Out? Who! MSU!". Let's be overly obnoxious: MSU 27 Ar-Kansas negative 2 Open date 21 LSWhy ZERO Oh, and big War Eagle! Need Auburn to pull through big time, because I do not see the Nutt House beating LSWhen next Friday in Tiny Stone.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/18/00 5:53 pm I am going to go jump in the Mississippi River. Good luck against LSWhere. no no no no no no no
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/18/00 6:18 pm Well, you just ruined my game winning smack by being cordial. ;-) Damn, what a freakin' game! I hope that Mario Haggan (I think?) is okay. Who let the Hogs out? Charlie
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/18/00 7:24 pm This IS a college baseball board and we do dominate in that sport. Besides, the best offense is good defense. I was listening via the internet, disgusting. Now Ole Miss is winning, thus putting my enjoyment of Thanksgiving in total jeopardy. Those dolts at Southern Miss lose, so LSWhy will most assuredly move in to the Top 25 and possibly ahead of us in the polls. Let's just say the past 12 days have not the best for my wishes and hopes. Yeech! So, Ar-kansas needs a win to be bowl eligible. The SEC could have nine teams qualifying. I'm afraid if that's the case and we lose to Ole and Butt-ugly Miss, we'll be thinking baseball about six weeks earlier than planned. no no no no no no
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/19/00 2:08 pm You OWN us in baseball? Arkansas and MSU have played 40 baseball games. Arkansas has won 19 and MSU has won 21. That is not what I would call owning anybody. That is a pretty even series. GO HOGS. WPS!
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/20/00 5:05 am That was high quality football good job Sherril. I hope he does take the BAMA job so he can take there team to shit as well. Sorry I have been quiet this week but my internet was down stupid time warner cable internet shit (I hate Teddy Turner just as much as I hate Spurrier)! Well it looks like Bama screwed us again this time on there home turf in Tuscaluie! Well it's ok now I have to cheer for Auburn (ouch!) to see how far they can make good ole Steve throw his visor!
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/20/00 9:30 am He was wearing a baseball cap Saturday!! What's up with that. No wonder we beat MSU, the whole freaking world was out of sync.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/20/00 8:58 pm RECENT series! Say 1992 on. Since we decided that there really was such a thing as too much money and let Ar-Kansas and the Lamecocks in, I figure you might have beaten us all of eight times. We have the deed and title to Hawg baseball since the SEC expanded.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/20/00 9:07 pm How did that little school in North Carolina do? Not even at a real SEC school, gotta live vicariously through LSU. Pretty sorry. Go watch Davidson.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/20/00 9:10 pm Does everyone in the SEC hate Spurrier? He has done wonders at what was everyone whipping post. Prior to his arrival, they'd never won a legit SEC football title. Give him his dues, he wins and cleanly. I'll even give Nick Satan credit for winning a Cretin State-Red Stick. No, Ar-kansas won because MSU can not stand prosperity.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/21/00 10:06 am Don't just "figure" or guess what you think the record might be. Go look it up. I know for a FACT that in 1998 we beat MSU three times in the regular season, because I was at the games. Nevermind, I'll go look it up myself and get back to you. YOU didn't decide to let us in. Roy Kramer decided that Kentucky was making everybody it's bitch in basketball and let us in to give them some competition. Since 1992, we have brought 1 basketball national championship and well a whole bunch track and field championships. Hey, we just got another Cross Country championship. What has MSU given the SEC in that time? In the past two years, we went to two Jan 1 bowl games, thus bringing a lot of money to the SEC. So don't try and act like we don't belong in the SEC, because we have more championships that you do. Ar-Kansas? Please, dog. Give me something original. Your tired little smack makes me want to go to sleep.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/21/00 10:09 am I really don't have anything against Steve Spurrier. Probably the only coaches I don't like in the SEC are DuBose and mabye Tubberville. Well, add "run up the score" Phil to that list too. Arkansas won because our defense decided to step up and play for a change, and Brandon Holmes came off the bench and gave a great performance, and we benched Zak Clark and went with Hampton.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/21/00 10:10 am Who are your picks for SEC awards? Coach of the year, off player of the year, def player of the year, newcomer of the year, stuff like that?
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/22/00 12:37 am OK, since the SEC is dominating this board, much like baseball, here goes: COACH: Holtz turned 0-11 into 7-4, but the closing three games stunk. The TD that Tennessee scored in the last 10 seconds just gutted them. DuBose, Mumme, Dornan, Nutt, Woody, Cutcliff, and Fulmer aren't in the race. Saban's a great coach (just what LSWho doesn't need) and their turn around has been strong, but LSWhatever showed their talent in popping the Hogs at the end of '99. He did a good job, but they lost to UAB. Sherrill has made a ton of money off of 7- and 8- win teams that always come up short somewhere during the season (see, I am objective). That leaves just one---Tuberville. 9-2 with that team is pretty strong. Offensive player: Tie, Rudy Johnson- Auburn and the McGriff kid at Florida. Defensive player of the year: Kenny Smith, Alabama. He was the only player not to mail in in over there. If he'd stayed healthy... Newcomer: Rudy Johnson Biggest (and I mean biggest) bust: Jared Lorenzen, Kentucky. He is awful and is treated like royality. Dusty Bonner would have won 5 or 6 as QB. Comments?
dus4soc (18/M/new orleans) 11/22/00 6:15 pm Coach of the year - Should be Saban but he will finish runner-up to Holtzy allthough LSU could crush USC. Comeback player of the year - Josh Booty hands down Offensive MVP - Josh Reed leads the LSU in all major recieving categories and it doesn't matter whose throwing the ball to him Most Courageous Performance - Rohan Davey vs. Tenn Defensive MVP - USC's whole D Freshmen of the year - LaBrandon Toefield Biggest win of the year - LSU 84 Arkans-ass 3
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/23/00 10:42 am If you'd attend an SEC school, maybe you'd post something well thought out. Reed Offensive MVP? Johnson is the entire offense at Auburn, the SEC West Champion! Reggie Robinson of LSWhy has bigger catches than Reed. Saban? Gerry ReTardo had a ton of talent, Saban is coach and knew what do do with it. Tubberville, hands down. Carolina's defense? You talking about the same one that allowed tennesse and Clemson to score in the final 10 seconds to win? The same one that Florida and Alabama destroyed? Even on a horrible off weekend, State moved the ball against them. Come back player? Try Jessie Palmer. He didn't throw a costly interception on a non-existent play against UAB. Even the ton of LSWhere grads here at the LSU Med Center think Davey is the best QB in Pussycat Town. I'll give you Toefield, but when LSHow pulls the red-shirt off of Parquette, say hello to back up. Biggest win of the year: Central Florida over Ala-bumble-stumple-fumble-bama.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 11/25/00 2:03 pm <> <> HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Go to hell LSU, go to hell!!
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/25/00 5:00 pm ...started innocently enough, a trip home to Greater Jackson. No problem. My brother and his lovely wife (both Ole Miss alumni, both clinically brain dead) have tickets to the Egg Bowl (Bob, like, ah, duh! You do have season tickets. Wouldn't you figure the game would be included?) and will only be in my face for about two hours, then off they'd go to see Old, Cripple, No Teeth, Miss lose for the third time in a row to my 'Dawgs. Right? But, noooooooooooooooo. It starts to rain. Hard. "Bob, honey. I'm not going to sit in the cold and rain to see that again. Once is enough." "Who am I going to take, Patrice?" She glances at me. "Oh, no." I reply, "He is an ass when you lose and we agreed to NEVER to go or sit together". Pa: "Boys, when will you two grow up about this?". Ma: "C'mmon...". Damned, Mom and that pitiful "come on" crap. You do not go against the come on. Round two: "I am not riding in truck with a Mississippi State alumni decal on it and use my parking pass". "Fine, I'll stay home. I am not riding in some boat with Mary Kay college crap on it". Ma: "C'mmon..., take my wagon" (She's 58, no kids at home and still drives a station wagon). Round three: In a wagon with all three sons allegences, Old Musty Smelling; Hardy Street High (USM), and, of course, MSU. Bob is in frickin' wool slacks and a candy stripe sweater. Can you say "lookin' very gay?". I am in jeans, a down vest, and my grimmy MSU baseball cap. We are now going to sit up in the covered section with the snots. I quickly discover friends in this den of inquity and potential sodomites wearing red and blue. Round four: MSU 16 them zero. Ten to go in the 2nd quarter. Bob: "I'm leaving at halftime". Round five and six: Halftime: them 21 MSU 16. Me:"Ready to go?". "No!". First play third quarter, me: "Got any booze?". My fellow MSU sufferers join me in a toddy (not a f'ing hoddy toddy). Round seven: MSU 30 them 28. "Bob, you want to taste this? It'll kill the pain. Round eight: Bastards win. Bastards are obnoxious. Round nine: I do not kill brother on long, cold, wet drive back to mom and dad's. Round ten: Shreveport? Oh, my gosh, no! It's that bowl for LOSER schools? Let's see the three of past four SEC team there have been Ole Miss (loser school), Ar-Kansas (loser school), and LSWhere (big loser school). Arrgghh!!!
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/25/00 5:03 pm LSWhat fan clueless!
Good News msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 11/25/00 5:11 pm Thursday night at halftime I was talking to a high school friend about the Alabama situation and their next head coach. The word out of Oxpatch's Athletic Department is UAB (remember them LSHow fan?) turned in a ton of stuff DuBose did WHILE ON NCAA probation. Apparently, Alabama is going to see a HUGE investigation (a la Dale Brown, remember that cheater LSWhy fan, and the University of Minnesota). If found guilty (as in will there be a holdiay July 4), expect to see outrageous punishment (30 scholarship stripped over 3 years, no bowls for three years, NO TELEVISION NO MATTER WHAT [that means no SEC TV share], just for starters. Bottom line: Do not count on seeing a name coach taking that job. North Carolina now appears to be the best Southern job out there; that or Vandy! Gotta love it!
Good ellisshoe456 (40/M/Midcity area, New Orleans) 11/25/00 10:24 pm For someone who banned from the LSU board for being such a jackass, I will give you credit. You've scooped me on this one. So now sources at LSU and Ole Miss are saying the same thing. What's the story from the Hawaiian bound Hogs AD?
t. Good ellisshoe456 (40/M/Midcity area, New Orleans) 11/25/00 10:30 pm Hey, MSMoo, the reason for such a stiff punishment will be the "lack of instutional control" charge. Alabama self-imposed sanctions last time and were under them while DuBose was cheating his little ol' headoff. Hey, Kow Kollege, try this math with me, OK? Ole Miss 38 Arkansas 24 Ole Miss 45 MSMoo 30 LSU 20 Ole Miss 9 LSU 45 MSU Moo 38 Arkansas 14 LSU 3 Arkansas 17 MSMoo 10 Total: Ole Miss 92 LSU 68 Arkansas 55 MSMoo oh-and-three
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 12/6/00 12:59 pm To all the SEC schools in their bowl games! Thanks Dogs and Tigs for helping my Hogs into the Las Vegas Bowl, way to take one for the team. Viva Las Vegas but I still can't wait for February when the real ball starts. GO HOGS GO. http://www.geocities.com/minorshogs
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 12/8/00 10:14 am FOR other teams: Arkansas coach Norm DeBriyn said much the same thing about righthander Charlie Isaacson, who received a medical redshirt after missing almost all of 2000 with tendinitis in his throwing shoulder. Isaacson won his first 10 college decisions, going 9-0, 3.16 with 97 strikeouts in 100 innings as a freshman in 1999. DeBriyn said he was approaching his freshman form in fall practice. "He looked good—I think he's all the way back," DeBriyn said. "He had good velocity and movement on his pitches. We're bringing him along slowly with something like this, so the last time he pitched in the fall he was on a 50-pitch count. He never had to have surgery, and he's going to be ready for the spring." He's Baaaaaaaaacccccckkkkkk! From baseballamerica.com
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 12/19/00 1:03 pm Who will win the SEC (season and tourny) who will win the CWS, who will be All-Americans? It's so cold outside, it feels like college baseball!!! Merry Christmas everybody out there in yahoo land! Hey msu dawg, found a cool site that you might like: www.raffy25.com Rafael Palmerio's official site. It's got pics of his MSU days. The stands are strangly empty. ;-)
Baseball America charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 1/3/01 1:18 pm http://baseballamerica.com/leagues/NCAA/top25.html do the link. 6 SEC teams, with LSU ranked 3rd.
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 1/3/01 2:10 pm I know how much you missed me, but I was overwhelmed with school this past month. Please! Batting practice is now in session would be a much better subject for that post. I almost made it back to Greater Bowie County for New years, but opted for bitter cold Shreveport for the Snow Bowl. Exciting game. MSU! MSU! MSU! P.S. Nice job against Las Vegas. Should there be any reason to expect a Piggie win in September against them?
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 1/3/01 2:17 pm The pic are probably from one of those annoying nobody non-conference games in the early 80's. You know games against, Bellhaven, Mississippi College, Samford, the university of Arkansas, Milsaps, Louisiana College, and the like. The Pre-season Top 25 is again litter, and I do mean littered, with those always over-rated teams from the ACC. Georgia tech #1? Yeah, right. They will lose in a sub-regional. FSU? Oh, boy! Another losing trip to Omaha. The only reason they even think about letting FSU host regionals is because of $$$ and the sure two-and-done outcome. UNC? Yawn. Clemson? Not even the best in their state. The National title will be in Stanford, unfortunately, come June. They have away of winning the ones their not supposed to. Last year stung them, I see Stanford. The SEC is just two words: Mississippi State!!! Say, LSU losers, what this about Skip becoming Athletic Director? Y'all are not smart enough to make a good call like that. MSU! MSU! MSU!
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 1/3/01 2:17 pm Yet, no Piggies?
America charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 1/3/01 4:46 pm Well since we finished last in the SEC last year, I wouldn't think so. We'll just have to see how things turn out. It's only 33 days away and I am SOOOOOOOOOO ready for some baseball. The Shreveport bowl was a good one. I love watching snow games. That was pretty awesome.
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 1/3/01 4:46 pm <> I'm assuming he's still going to coach?
charlie15_79 (21/F/Fayetteville, AR) 1/3/01 4:50 pm I know how much you missed me, but I was overwhelmed with school this past month I never let my school interfear with sports. That's no way to live. 3.6 for the Fall. Pretty good, huh? Go ahead, congratulate me, I deserve it. Although, you are med right? And I'm just Liberal Arts, but hey, I won't miss one home baseball game this year. I've been to 70 consecutive home games, and I'll make 35 or so more this year. WPS!
msubulldog_70005 (28/M/Stuck in Gosh Forsaken Me) 1/3/01 9:53 pm LSWhere offered him the job this afternoon and accepted it, now just needs an OK from the university board. Unfortunately, bevause I'm in an LSU school, the crap just flows. Apparently this move signals a total cut from Joe Dean and his crowd. Bertman was hired by the AD who was going fire Dale Brown, who was fired by the pro-Brown President. LSHow politics, amazing! Anyway, he'll run both jobs until June.
Post 80 goes here. Sorry, this is as far as I've gotten for now. Today is 7-17-01. Look for more soon.--Charlie
