Course Description
In our fast-paced world today we see and hear how PowerPoint Presentations are being used more and more instead of overhead projectors.

by showing upcoming dates and activities for a church
Course Objectives
be able to develop a presentation pleasing to an audience (using bulleted lists, insert pictures, clip art, word art, format slides, and slide transitions)
create an outline
use animation
Preparation, Participation, and Attendance
Students are expected to prepare each assignment for the date due. Because of the nature of this class, students are expected to be present and prepared. Lack of proper preparation or absences in excess of four class periods will be considered in the determination of each final grade and may result in the reduction of the grade as listed below.
1 absence - minus 2 points |
3 absences - minus 4 points |
2 absences - minus 3 points |
4 absences - dropped from class |
Grading Policy and Scale
The instructor will evaluate the above assignments and the two major projects will be presented to the class and evaluated by the instructor and peers. No late work will be accepted unless the instructor grants prior permission.
Grading scale is as outlined in the College Catalog

Projects
When you have finished Project 1, e-mail! This project is not found in your textbook. You are going to take a short vacation to a city or country of your choice. You will use the following:
Use the Internet to search for information about your destination, travel plans, and accommodations.
Prepare a slide presentation with 5-6 slides about your destination
Include on slide with a background picture relating to your trip
2 clip art pictures
Include some animation on the slides
Include background color or template
This project is worth 15 points
Project 2 - Presentation on a Mission Group, etc. You may choose a mission your church supports, from another country, a local mission, or a mission of some type you work with specifically. Should include the following:
7-8 slides
Have at least 1 slide with a background picture
At least 2 clip art and/or scanned pictures
WordArt in one place
At least 2 text boxes that you have drawn
Two slides with speaker notes
Footers
This project is worth 20 points
Project 3 - Presentation of a Bible Story/Lesson,
(can be your favorite scripture as a lesson) to include the following:10-12 slides (no more than 15)
Should have graphics, transitions, animation, and footers
Speaker notes on 2 slides
2 slides with WordArt
Use at least 2 types of auto shapes
At least 3 text boxes you've drawn
Have at least 2 background pictures
At least 3 clipart pictures
Slides should have either your own background color scheme or a template
Design a small logo and place on the master slide
This project is worth 30 points.
