Now that I have your attention, I hope that you all are doing well, and this column will be catching you up with what all has been going on with the chapter since the last newsletter. The membership is now over 30 men, and the chapter has continued to grow steadily, 10 men in Fall 2003 and 4 men each in Spring and Fall of 2004. Greek recruitment is down nationwide and especially at ISU. This year, the fraternities decided to formalize rush and have the rushees visit all the fraternities to see which ones they liked the best. There was a poor turnout of men who chose this option, mainly because structure is not something guys are not used to when it comes to Greek life, and that we are lazy. This hurt everyone's numbers overall. This being said, the chapter is happy with their results, and the motivation behind the new guys is incredible. There are several men interested in rushing next semester. Last spring, the chapter sponsored a Kickball Tournament for Alzheimer's Research and it was the first time they tried something like this, so it was a great accomplishment. They also participated in a campus-wide cancer walk to raise money for cancer research. Last spring also saw the return of Parent's Weekend that was organized by outgoing senior Steve Fryman #360.
