Places to stay

Get your head down

Here are some ideas for places to stay. We've tried to give some idea of how to get from each to the venue.

We're not keeping a track of who is staying where I'm afraid, but I expect most people will be staying in one of these locations

beamishhall
Beamish Hall
The venue for the wedding. It has a few rooms but most will be taken for close family

beamishpark
Beamish Park Hotel
Only a few minutes walk/stumble from the venue. (directions here). The Beamish Park Hotel has 42 bedrooms "designed to meet the needs of today's discerning business or leisure guest"

mariott
Royal County, Durham
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. When you're not at the wedding you can relax one of England most impressive locations.
Directions to the venue here

belmont
Belmont Guest House, Sunderland
A little further away from the venue itself (about 30-40mins). This B&B is run by my lovely aunt (who has also provided much of the info for this site). It's a great location near the beach and is perfect for families or couples looking to spend a little more time exploring the area. I'll be booking it out for the week but let me know if your interested in a room before or after the big day. Otherwise, you could try the Abingdon (below)

Lumley
Lumley Castle, Chester-le-Street
Yes it is beautiful, and yes we did look at holding the wedding here too... but look, if you you're really excited about the idea of staying in a real castle (perhaps even with real ghosts) you can! Its only a few minutes drive from the venue - directions here

abingdon
Abingdon Guest House, Sunderland
Just along the same street as the Belmont., this B&B offers the same great value accommodation and is also perfect for people spending some time exploring the area. It also has a sister hotel 'The George' - just tell them Pam recommended you
