Baby Games 1.1.1
Baby Games is the perfect computer introduction for children aged 18
months to 4 years. The program helps young children learn to recognize
the alphabet, numbers 1-20, basic geometric shapes, colors, and animals
with accompanying sounds. Baby Games is non-competitive and encouraging
as well as fun to play and educational. The program makes it fun and
easy for the young child to interact with the computer while engaged in
learning. This updated version places all sounds in a separate file for
easy customization. Version 1.1.1 also significantly reduces RAM
requirements on most Macs. A time limited fully functional copy of the
program is now available for download.
Pricing: $15.
System requirements: System 7.1 or higher, 030 or higher processor, 5.5MB
available RAM (Virtual Memory or RAM Doubler OK), 3.3 available disk
space.

[*] ChaosPoetry Generator 1.2.sit
|
ChaosPoetry Generator is a HyperCard based writing tool to help writers
break through writers block. Full documentation is included within the
stack, but a simple explanation is that ChaosPoetry Generator is a random
string generator wherein you control the strings.
This version corrects a major bug which would not allow you to save your
generated text. This has been fixed, and now CPG allows full text export.
We give our permission for this file to be included
on the Info-Mac CD-ROM, with our usual stipulations.
Thank you.

[*] DesktopMinder v1.5
|
DesktopMinder is a small script application which can save the position
of everything that appears on your desktop, and later restore those items
to the saved position. Version 1.5 improves on saving position data and
catches some error messages. I have abandoned saving the position files
as separate compiled script files, and store the data within the script
application itself. I like this arrangement even better because there are
fewer dialogs, and fewer files to store. If you want to save different
sets of positions, just copy the script application and rename it to
something that will tell you what set you are saving.

Find In Files searches a set of files (or all files) for some text.
Why would you use Find In Files? Here's an example: Suppose you have a
bunch of HTML documents, and one or more of them has some information you
need. You could open every one of the files and search them by hand, or
use Find In Files to search for you. Simply enter some key words in the
"Search For" text area, optionally enter a creator and file type (or click
the Select File button, and open any file to get the file's creator and
file type), select the folder where the search begins, and click on Search.
New for Find In Files 1.3:
- Now Fat Binary (works in native mode on both 68K and PPC computers)
- Enhanced appearance
- Fixed a bug when using letters with accents.

This is version 2.0 of Flush It!, a small background utility application
designed to periodically flush the contents your RAM-based disk cache.
Flush It! is a small application that gives you control over when and how
often your disk cache gets written out to disk. It operates in two modes:
manual or timed. In manual mode, Flush It! will flush the disk cache for
all of your mounted disks only when you tell it to. In timed mode, Flush
It! will run in the background and flush your disk cache at a time
interval you select.
Flush It! is designed to be a "set-it-and-forget-it" background
application. It occupies a very small memory partition (64K on machines
running System 7; 80K on systems using Mac OS 8), making it an ideal
candidate for your Startup Items folder.
The original Flush It! was released as freeware, and remains so.
Flush It! 2.0 is, however, being released as $3.00 US shareware. This
software is not disabled in any way. You are free to use it for
evaluation purposes for a period of thirty (30) days. If you like it, and
decide to keep using it, please pay your shareware fee of $3.00 US by
cash, check, or money order mailed to:
Jack Browning
210 McKnight Road
Fairview Heights, Illinois 62232
Apart from my sincere thanks and gratitude, paying the shareware fee will
entitle you to advance notification of new versions of Flush It!. Payment
of your shareware fee will be acknowledged by e-mail, so please include
your e-mail address with your payment.
If, after the evaluation period, you decide not to use Flush It! 2.0, or
pay the shareware fee, destroy any copies you may have.
Flush It! 2.0 may be included on CD-ROMs, or in other software
compilations, so long as it is not sold separately and this documentation
is distributed along with the software. I retain any and all commercial
rights to this software, and any commercial, for-profit distribution of
this software is prohibited unless prior written authorization for such
distribution is obtained from me.
Flush It! 2.0 is being distributed "as-is", without any warranty, either
express or implied. Damages resulting from the use of Flush It! 2.0 shall
be limited to a refund of the shareware fee, if such fee was paid by the
person making a claim for damages.

[*] MicNotePad Lite 4.1.2
|
MicNotePad Lite 4.1.2 is a newly improved free version of Nirvana
Research's easy to use, reliable, digital no-tape recorder and transcriber
software for Macintosh.
Background operation, compression, reliability, variable speed, and
scriptability are some of the many features of MicNotePad Lite.
New in version 4.1.2 (since 4.0.8):
- MicNotePad's help (Cmd-? page 75) explains how to access the
new yet hidden feature voice activated recording
- new key combinations
- support for most 3rd party accellerated Macs
On a PowerPC, MicNotePad Lite optionally allows speech recording in less
than 6MB per hour, or less than 100K per minute. On older 68k Macs that
number is 14MB per hour.
Among the many exciting features of MicNotePad Lite is the ability to play
back while still recording. You can't do that with a tape recorder!
MicNotePad is being used to record, review, transcribe, and archive
lectures, meetings, interviews, and radio shows, and for professional,
medical, and legal office dictation.

QuitEverything is a simple script which quits all running applications,
except the Finder. This is v1.4 which improves on the manner in which I
send quit events to applications and handles background only processes
better. Some apps take the "activate" command and display their "About
this App..." screen. With this version, I wrap a simple error trap
around a test in between two variations on quiting the app (thats a
mouthful)...bottom line is that you should be able to quit out of
applications more reliably and leave background processes alone. This
assumes that background only processes are background only because they
shouldn't be quit easily.
System requirements:
*System 7.x through OS 8, with AppleScript and the scriptable Finder (a
standard part of the OS since System 7.5) * Sändi's Additions, a
scripting addition available on info-mac
For more information, please read the included ReadMe file or check my web
site:

ShrinkWrap is a utility that can easily turn a disk into an
electronically transmittable file (via the Internet, etc.) and then just
as easily, return it to an exact disk image of the original source disk.
ShrinkWrap 3.0 supports all commonly used image file formats, it
provides StuffIt compression capabilities, and 40-bit encryption for
international and domestic security.
Features
* Aladdin's StuffIt compression and decompression technology helps users
save about 30% more space and is twice as fast as DiskCopy 6.1, *
Automatic BinHex encoding and standard 40-bit dynamic encryption allows
for secure and timely Internet transmission, * Double-click to mount new
self-mounting image files as unlocked volumes without additional
dialogs, * Read/Write/Mount support for Apple's NDIF (New Disk Image
Format) image files, * Auto-launch installer feature eliminates writing
of DiskScripts and creation of separate files, it finds and launches the
installer on the disk image automatically, * Adds 68k and PPC
compression and encryption quickly and easily with the upgraded disk
image mounting driver; plug in your choice of components, * Caching to
the hard drive during disk-to-disk duplication to minimize ejects, *
Asynchronous floppy support allows multitasking, ShrinkWrap works in the
background allowing users to continue working on their Mac, *
Confirmation of data integrity is provided with CRC-32 and DiskCopy 4.2
checksums.
Installation
Install ShrinkWrap by simply double-clicking the file named "ShrinkWrap
3.0 Installer". A 15-day trial version of ShrinkWrap will be copied to
your hard drive. When you choose to register ShrinkWrap, you can enter
your registration number to disable the time limit.
Requirements
It is a System 7 and OS 8 application that contains both 68k and PowerPC
native code, is AppleEvent aware, 32-bit clean, AV, '040 cache, and
virtual memory compatible.
In order to automatically compress and decompress archived disk images
on the fly, you'll need a copy of the StuffIt Engine. Ideally, you will
already have the StuffIt Engine installed in your Extensions folder. If
not, you should obtain either DropStuff with Expander Enhancer or
StuffIt Deluxe. DropStuff is available from our Web site at
<http://www.aladdinsys.com>. Both of the these products contain the
StuffIt Engine.

Yank is a $15 shareware application that does two things:
1) Uninstalls an application and files created by the application by moving
them to the Trash.
2) Cleans up your Preferences folder by moving outdated files to the Trash.
Nothing is deleted - all files are moved to the Trash.
Open the Trash folder and watch those unneeded files pile up! If you want
to replace the files, click on them, and select "Put Away" from the File
menu (command-Y).
Yank is a fat-binary application, which means it runs in native mode on a
Power Macs and 68K Macs. System 7 is required.
New for Yank 2.0
See the user's manual for more info on these new features
- Uninstall does not require the "Mac OS Easy Open" Control Panel anymore.
- Clean up Prefs Folder now has two search modes: Thorough and Quick.
- Code has been better optimized for faster performance.
- And a few bugs fixes.

€ Text Encoding Converter (v1.2): a shared library which provides
support for converting text between character encoding standards,
including the Mac OS, Windows, ISO-8869, EUC, and Unicode 2.0. The
most common use of this functionality is when Internet applications
need to handle text (such as Windows Latin-1) which is not encoded in
a standard Mac text format (Mac OS Roman, for example). Requires the
"Text Encodings" folder in the System Folder, which contains modules
for different encoding standards.
