Some of the Better New Hampshire Lakes

There are so many nice lakes to fish in the state of New Hampshire that this list will definitely be missing several good lakes.  If you know of a lake that should be added email me at bmullane@primavera.com. I personally would like to see a couple of lakes on this list have special regulations set  to protect bass as well as other fish.  If you are interested in helping me accomplish this join the New Hampshire Smallmouth Alliance.

Armington Lake - golden shiners and both largemouth and smallmouth roams these waters.

Ayer's Pond - you'll find both species of bass and golden shiners and crayfish.

Bow Lake -  One of my favorites - both species of bass, landlocked salmon, lake trout (touge), and rainbows inhabit Bow.
Alewives, crayfish, and common shiners are the basic forage.

Chocura Lake - smallmouth and crayfish and shiners are present.  I've never heard any reports on this one.

Conway Lake - smallmouth bass, landlocked salmon, and brown trout feed on golden shiners, smelt and suckers.

Crystal Lake - both species of bass, trout, and landlocked salmon make this a nice lake.

Deering Reservoir - A great smallmouth lake with some largemouth present.

Dodge Pond - Lyman - both species of bass as well as northern pike.

French Pond - a great largemouth lake, very few smallmouth present.

Glen Lake - both species of bass as with crayfish, golden shiners and suckers for forage.

Goose Pond - Cannan - Largemouth and smallmouth feed on crayfish and suckers.

Grafton Pond - Smallmouth do well here - nice structure.  Crayfish, golden shiners, and suckers are the prime forage.

Great East Lake - Largemouth and smallmouth along with lake trout and possibly browns can be found here.  Smelt and crayfish along with   the common redfin shiner and suckers make up the forage base.

Hopkinton Lake - this lake has nice structure for it's largemouth but is heavily fished.

Kanasataka Lake - A nice, scenic largemouth pond - may have some smallmouth.

Little Squam Lake - The small brother of Big Squam , Little Squam hold nice largemouth, smallmouth, lake trout, and landlocked salmon.         Golden shiners, crayfish, and smelt are the prime forage.
