Glentoran beat the old enemy again this season and ending a long home record of
being unbeaten since January 98 at Windsor Pk. Rory Hamill drilled in the
Glens first after a save from Mathers 5 minutes into the second half, Glenn
Ferguson levelled the scores 3 minutes later when his glancing header
beat man of the match Gough at the far post, but
David Rainey scored the winner, substitute Tim McCann crossed well from the
right and Rainey's first effort came off the post but the ball fell for the
rebound on the line for Rainey to knock in, the Glens had to hold out near the
end with Linfield pushing for the equaliser but it never came and the Glens went
home with a well deserved 3 points and narrow thr gap down to 12 points.
