Intermediate Champions - 2000
|
The hurlers took pride of place in 2000 by winning
the Intermediate championship. After winning the Junior titlle in 1999 the
hurlers were left to battle it out with A. Ruadh for the Intermediate title.
Without the inspirational Tom Costello it was left
to former County player Noel Mc Andrew and team captain Colin McFarland
to drive the team forward. The first game was a tight affair in Ballyshannon
and in the replay in Pettigo it was all about who wanted it most.
A. Ruadh started off strong but a goal from Barry
McAndrews and an inspirational point from Colin McFarland near the end brought
the second hurling title back to Pettigo in two years.
