This information will come as a suprise to all of you, as it did to everyone in Wilmington. Jared Scofield tragically died of Bacterial Menangitis (sp.) today, Tuesday the 4th. I just wanted to submit a message about this kid to let everyone know what he was like. I was so blessed to know Jared from the 4th grade until now. Jared was one of those upbeat kids who didn't have a mean bone in his body. I swear he never did anything mean to anyone, and I am not just saying that. No matter how long I would sit and think, I couldnt think of a bad quality about Jared. He was one of my closest friends and I can't make sense of this. He was our starting wide receiver and defensive back. He received first team all conference honors on defense. Anyone that saw him play was blessed. He was a great player, friend, person, everything. Pray for his family as they try to make sense of everything. Something needed to be written about Jared. I loved the kid and will never be able to figure out why an individual of his caliber would be taken from us. Jared will be missed and remembered forever. Keep him and his family in your prayers. ...the message sent earlier about the fab22 ripoffs i said that scofield should of definetly been a part of the heralds picks. Well the thing i didn't talk about was the personality of Jared Scofield. It was fun to see him around people he didn't know because he seemed sort of shy but around his friends it was a whole new person. He was not one you would expect to see fired up for a game but when he was it highly motivated me and my fellow teamates. All i know is if there was a fab number 1 one of my best buds scofield would be on it. Jared, we will miss you!

I have never really writen on this board but there would not be a better opportunity than now to start. Jared Scofield was my friend and teamate. I had the privlage to play Football, Baseball, and lift weights with him. Jared was like a big brother to me, he was always over at our house. I had so much respect for Jared. He was a great role model for me in everysport. I cant even express in words how i felt about Jared. Jared an I both played defensive back on the same side. He was always encouraging be and always inspired me to give it my best. Jared was always there for me whether it was on the field with my defense or swing, in the classroom, and in the weight room if i needed a spot or lift off. By my senoir year if i could be like anyone, it would be jared and my brother. Jared has impacted me in so many ways. I will never forget Jared and his smiling face. I will miss you. I love you "Rabbit"

To a kid that you just can't explain with simple words. This is the teamate everybody wants on there team. He was one of my best friends and i can't tell you what his loss means to me. To all the highschool teamates out there just realize how special and important your friends are because you may never be in there presence again. Luckily for me i was with him his last days on this Earth. And someday i will be with him in heaven playing the game we loved.
Jared i love you,
