Take a stroll back in history and get to know my Dad a little.

From Jerry and Roger to all:

Our father past away early Thursday (8/13/98) morning at age 56. He died of several complications that arose while he was in the hospital from a stroke. We would just like to say thanks to everyone for their kind words and prayers. We will miss our father and will never really truly get over the loss of such a wonderful man. Below is part of his will he wrote 8 years ago. I just wanted to type this so you could know a little bit about the man that had such a big impact on mine and Roger's life.

I have had a good life. I have a wonderful wife (35 years) and 3 lovely children (Joan, Jerry and Roger). I have done more than most people. When I was a senior in high school I drove to Fairbanks, Alaska from Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from high school I became engaged to my high school sweetheart. I then joined the U.S. Navy for 4 years (1961-1965). While in the Navy I got married, graduated from 2 Sonar Schools, was part of the Cuban Missile Crisis, part of the Sonar Team to search for the missing Navy submarine SS Thresher (working with scientists from Woods Hole Oceanagraphic Institute), I was an Honor Guard for President Kennedy in Key West, Florida; part of the U.S. Naval Recovery Task Force for Gemini 5 Space Shot (astronauts Cooper and Conrad) and 2 commendations. After receiving my Honorable Discharge, I attended Franklin University and worked for the State of Ohio for 9 years.

I have worked for AT&T for over 20 years of which I have attended schools across the country. I received 2 more commendations. I have researched my Family Tree back to the 1500's. I have traveled to Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Malta, Sicily, Crete, Tunesia, Turkey, Libya, Bahammas, Cuba, Canada and 34 states in the USA. I also love nature and the outdoors....

Sincerely,
Gene C. Mohr
