Lead directing bids are very useful. This week's deal shows the utility.
Ruai Trophy quarter final was played between ACLA & Kini. A S Vishwanathan playing for Kini was able to bid a cold game over his partner's lead directing double.
West opened 1 to which East replied with Bergen raise.ShyamSundar found it appropriate to make lead directing double of artificial 3 bid by East which prompted Vishu to try for game in 5 .
Vishu scored his game easily where as contract at other table was just 2 by EW and Kini's team gained 13 IMPs due to the lead directing bid.
