Martina turned into a professional tennis player in 1994.
She has been coached by her mother, Melanie Molitor, and even now her mother
is known as her coach and best friend.
Martina became the youngest ever Wimbledon champion by capturing the
1996 doubles title with Helena Sukova.
Martina also became the youngest player in the 20th century to win a
Grand Slam singles title at the age of 16 years old.
Martina Hingis is one of my top tennis star because she is known to
be one of the greatest athlete at such a young age. She became number
one in the world at the age of 17 years old and I think this gives other
junior tennis players the motivation to succeed. She has great speed
on the court and great power for a 17 year old.
Martina also have a friendly personality on and off the court.
At the age of 17, Martina not only play professional tennis, but she is
also involved a lot in charity work. She visited Nepal, Kathmandu
in early April to visit the United Nations committee, in order to help
the poor.
