Hey!!
Welcome to my little piece of the web. My name is Sarah and at the mo Im 22 y/o!!!
I have two brothers Kris (19) and Brodie (8) and a lil sis aswell called Nicole (10). I moved out in 2002 for uni, so Im closer to Adelaide now!
Heres a pic of me when I went to studio 2000. I won a pamper session with my sis. They did our hair and make up etc and took tonnes of hell nice photos!! Mind you the photos cost heaps 2, but were worth it for the experience!
I finished year 12 in 2001 at Kapunda High School and achieved my SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education).
First year of Uni I studied an Indigenous Studies Foundation program run by an association called "Wilto Yerlo" - which means "Sea Eagle" in Kaurna language. In particular I studied the Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation Course because I also studied psychology in the mainstream subjects. At the end of that year I found out about more courses being offered at different Uni's and decided that I would swap Uni's and study Aboriginal Policy and Management at UniSA. Things at the start of that year didnt go at all like I planned them and I didnt get the best start to the year (no only with Uni) so I decided to put Uni on hold and am now currently working for the South Australian Government. I have moved in with my boyfriend and things are going mostly great apart from developing a disease called Graves Disease. Its not contagious so dont worry about that, but it has made me slow down my life. I get very tired very quickly and cant do alot of strenuous exercise. It means that my thyriods are overly active and producing too much of everything. I have a very rapid heart beat I need to be very careful with that because I was told by a doctor that if it beats too fast it can become irregular and then stop! That scared me alot. After 2 years of trialling medications, it has been decided that I will have an operation at the end of this year to remove my thyroids altogether. I am nervous about this but strangely also excited as I am told that my life can go almost back to normal and thats the thing Im hoping for the most! (See the links below to read my story)
I love sports, but in particular Cricket and Aussie Rules. With Cricket I go for New Zealand becoz I just luv Daniel Vettori. Hes a left armed orthadox spinner and one of the finest in the world, apart from some niggling back injuries which he sustained during an accident. Did you know he was apparently told he'd never be able to walk again! He used to be a pace bowler, but after the accident couldnt seem to get up enough speed so switched! I reckon hes a real champ and not bad to look at either!
As for footy in the AFL (Australian Football League) I go for the Melbourne Demons. I've liked them ever since I was little! My favourite players when I was little were guys like Shaun Smith, Gary Lyon, Todd Viney. My all time fav player tho is Jeff Farmer. I've actually dedicated a page to him (check the links below!) Only he has now returned home to WA and is playing for Fremantle, so I reckon its safe to say I have a soft spot for them now! My fav players at the moment for the Dees would be Matty Whealan, Trav Johnstone, Peter Vardy, James McDonald and Russell Robertson.
In the local SANFL (South Australian Nation Football League) I go for Elizabeth Central District Bulldogs! We have won Back 2 Back premierships, or as the locals like to say BARK 2 BARK!! I happened to be lucky enough to get a position at centrals in 2002 to become a trainer. Im working with the two underage teams U17 and U19. They are really a great bunch of guys. As a trainer I have to do things like run water on game days. Learn correct strapping tecniques, warm up or down muscles, mostly back, drivers, hammys and calves. Its great working with the other trainers aswell, as I pick up different ways of doing things. In July 2003 I completed my level one trainers course. A few of our boys represented the state at U16, U18 and U20 level and all did very well. Our U19s team won the Grand Final in 2003 and that would have to be one of the greatest days in my life! It was awesome! Also some of the boys got picked up in the draft and I'd like to say a special good luck to Dylan Pfitzner who is now at St Kilda and Sammy Butler who is at West Coast. At the start of this year (2004) I got offered the position of Head Trainer at Woodville West Torrens Eagles. I've had to take a break from sport at the moment as I have recently been diagnosed with Graves Disease.
Music wise I can withstand almost anything! Except C&W and classical! I prefer to listen to a wide variety, and some of my fav bands include: KoRn, Limp Bizkit, WuTang, Cypress Hill, Jamiroquai, Greenday, Diesel (aka Mark Lizotte), Santana, Eminem, dance stuff, Spooks and heaps more which I cant think of just now! At the moment I would have to say that MY ABSOLUTE FAV BAND IS PuMPeRNiCKeL!! Its my brothers band and they've got a record deal and have made a demo CD and its great!! Anyone around the Gawler/Barossa area may have heard of them. One day they are gonna be HUGE!!! Best Wishes BOYS!
