NIHJA Show Results
NIHJA 1998 Show Results
*** Riders Please Note ***
All riders should qualify their show results and corresponding
point values. This process needs to be completed, and any discrepancies must be brought to the attention of the point secretary (Email: klen@cig.mot.com) no later than Sunday, November 1st, 1998. At that time, show results and year end
point standings will be finalized and used to identify the top
eight horses/riders in each of the qualifying divisions. An
annual award including Championship and Reserve Championship will be presented to these top eight finishers during the NIHJA Year End
Awards Banquet.
Also, for the 1st thru 8th place finishers, please indicate how you would like the rider/horse name to appear in the NIHJA Banquet Program. Unless otherwise stated, the name used will be that as appears in the points sheet.
Riders, while reviewing the following show score results and point values, please be aware of the following rules:
- All ties for Champion and Reserve are broken by identifing the horse/rider having the most points over fences. If this still results in a tie, then a tie between those riders/horses is declared and the full amount of points are awarded. If this is identified during the show, a hack off for Champion and/or Reserve should occur.
- The half point rule is applied to all divisions except for:
- Short Stirrup Equitation
- Long Stirrup Equitation
- Amateur Adult Equitation
- Junior Equitation
The half point rule states that Champion and Reserve places are only awarded to the two top riders/horses in a division having acquired at least 1/2 point over fences. This means you must place in one of the over fence classes to be eligible for either the champion or reserve award.
- Points for any class having less than 3 finishers will not count toward the horse/rider year end total for that division. For example, let's say an over fence class has 6 entries, but only 2 of the 6 complete the course. Since this results in only 2 finishers for that class, the points typically awared would not be valid for the year end total. In addition, the class would fall below the minimum number entries and would not count for determining Champion and Reserve places.
- There must be at least 2 classes that finish with the mimimum number of entries for a Champion and Reserve placing to occur within a division.
- In order to be eligible for Champion and Reserve award, the rider/horse MUST be entered in the entire division. NOTE: it is not necessary to ride in each class.
- Points associated with Champion and Reserve (20 and 12 respectfully) are not used nor applied to the year end total for any of the equitation divisions. Repeat, Champion and Reserve points are non-applicable to year end equitation division point totals.
