May 21 , Loughborough, England
It was a good season opener for Belfast's Gareth Turnbull who posted a personal best over the metric mile at the Loughborough International.Finishing strongly he was just pipped by Kenya`s Daniel Gachara by 0.01 of a second. Gareth `s time was one of 3:38.28 which is well inside the B 1500m standard for Edmonton. On an overcast but dry day Turnbull stuck with the pace early on and kept with Gachara right to the line in a brave effort.
| Gareth Turnbull, pictured at the Penn Relays, is in fine early season form. |
