SCRC members must be a member of ODS. When you join ODS you have the option of joining a local chapter, such as SCRC. When you join ODS you automatically become a group member of the United States Dressage Federation. You will receive a membership card from USDF. ODS and SCRC do not issue membership cards. Membership for USDF, ODS, and SCRC is for one year. American Horse Show Association membership and amateur status (renewable) is for one year. |

USAEquestrian (USAE) -
National Equestrian Federation of the United States, licenses officials, recognizes competitions, publishes the Rule Book and dressage tests for Training through Fourth Levels, and administers drug testing programs. |
United States Dressage Federation (USDF) -
Affiliated member of USAE. Established in 1973 for the purpose of promoting and encouraging a high standard of accomplishment in dressage throughout the United States, primarily through educational programs. |
Oklahoma Dressage Society (ODS) -
Group Member Organization (GMO) of USDF. Founded in 1976 to further interest in dressage. |
South Canadian River Chapter (SCRC) -
Greater Metro Oklahoma City Chapter of ODS. Founded in 1995 to expand and enhance the activities of the state dressage association. |

Oklahoma is in USDF Region 9, which includes five states: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. |

Clinic - One day or weekend educational event where local, regional, or national instructor conducts one on one or small group riding lessons. Auditors (watching only) usually welcome. A group lecture can also take place. |
Schooling Show - Run by local organizations and emphasize education. Usually Introductory Level and up. |
Recognized Show - Follows AHSA/USDF rules. Riders can qualify for AHSA/USDF awards. Usually Training Level and up. |
Regional Shows - American Bankers Insurance Company (ABIC)/USDF Regional Championships and Southwest Dressage Championships (SWDC) - regional championship shows held once a year. Qualifying classes are held at certain recognized shows. |
Year-end awards - Riders may sign up with ODS to qualify for year-end awards for ODS schooling and/or recognized shows. SCRC members may sign up with the chapter for year-end awards for SCRC schooling shows. |
USDF Group Member - Eligible to qualify for USDF Rider Awards (medals). |
USDF Participating Member - Eligible to qualify for USDF Rider and Horse Awards (horse must be registered with USDF). (See USDF Calendar of Competitions for more information on Rider and Horse Awards.) |

Rule Book - AHSA Dressage Division Rule Book. AHSA membership benefit. |
Horse Show - AHSA magazine (10 times per year). AHSA membership benefit. |

USDF Calendar of Competitions - Yearly publication, contains: calendar of competitions, current dressage tests, USDF Award information, and various contact information. |
Region 9 Omnibus - Yearly publication. USDF membership benefit. Contains: show information, standard entry form and stabling form, region 9 contacts, instructor and breeder listings, etc. |
ODS Newsletter - Published monthly, ODS membership benefit. Contains: schooling show entry forms, clinic information, articles, award rules, show results, and calendar of events. |
SCRC Newsletter - Published several times a year, usually monthly during the show season, SCRC membership benefit. Contains: schooling show entry forms, clinic information, articles, chapter award rules, chapter show results, and calendar of events. |
SCRC Omnibus - SCRC membership benefit. Contains: show and award information, member list, board member and committee responsibilities, show ring measurements, dressage tests, and other various information. |

Dressage instructors, tack and clothing stores, classified ads, training, boarding, and other related items are advertised in ODS and SCRC newsletters and in the Region 9 and the SCRC Omnibus'. |
Most Recognized show prize lists are in the Region 9 Omnibus or can be obtained by contacting the show secretary. Most recognized shows use the Standard Entry Form and Stabling Form which is in the Region 9 Omnibus. |
