Irish Karate Union
The Irish Karate Union was founded in 1971 and was originally affiliated to the JKA. When Kanazawa Sensei left the JKA to set up Shotokan Karate International, the Irish Karate Union went with him.

Under the guidance of Chief Instructor Neil Sargent, 6th Dan, the Irish Karate Union maintains a strong relationship with Kanazawa Sensei, who visits to teach and conduct grading examinations twice every year.
