Gerry broke his mast and replaced it with a soling mast section this uses no check stays and was done by Taska sails in Fremantle. Farr2Sirius had been pichpoled in a storm with out damage, apparently all on board could not speak for an hour after the ride of their life, it has held up well.

The boat was built in Auckland and , when transferred to Italy, has become the parent hull to build the Italian ones. Legend says it was Bruce Farr's personal boat. The mast is 11 meter long and the main sail is 22 square meter; the spinnaker is 82 square meter. It's a very fast boat that has been the winner in many races including the famous Centomiglia. |
