First Pack Comments: Huh. Jarrod Skalde autographs don't generally get people excited and the base in this pack were pretty lame as well. Morozov has the most career goals of any of them with a startling 84.

The first thing you are going to notice about this product is the checklist. It is ... rather generous shall we say. You can just see from the autos I pulled and the base cards that I got in that first pack that not all of the autographs are going to be exciting and fun breaks. In fact, well under half will be.
The lack of real star power throughout the product hurts it a bit, but there are still decent names to contend for: Patrick Marleau, Sergei Samsonov, Joe Thornton, Ziggy Palffy, Patrik Elias to name a few. Add in the possibility of pulling an SP auto, and there is good reason to stay interested throughout the box. In addition to the autos, there are two very nice foil inserts provided within each box: Take a Number and Stacking the Pads. Both are beautiful cards that nobody will mind pulling.
My box, well my box went pretty well. There were the dud autographs of course, every box will have them, but I really hit it big on my big names ... at least for me. Sykora was a nice Die Cut to pick up, Marleau, Damphousse, Kasparatius, and Carbonneau are nice autos to get as well. The biggest surprise and best pull of all though was the Adam Oates Prismatic ... mainly because all Adam Oates autos are supposed to be in Series 1 boxes (note the red corner in the scan, as compared to the blue corners in the other autos). I have no idea why Oates (and Ron Sutter for the record) appeared in a Series 2 box when they were on the Series 1 checklist, but I was definately thrilled to pull an Adam Oates autograph ... especially the prismatic!
As far as recommending a box, they aren't that expensive and it definately is a nice diversion if nothing else. The possibility of hitting some of the bigger names on the checklist or even hitting an SP add some excitement, but those searching for fun pack busting need to beware that Jarrod Skalde, Ed Ward, and Rich Brennan are hanging around as well.
