How points are allocated in 2008:
SCT will use selected ACT Cross Country Club events for our club winter pointscore competition. The points allocated for each race will be: 100 points for 1st place in the race, 99 for 2nd, 98 for 3rd etc. For relay events, points are allocated on fastest times (100 for fastest, 99 for second fastest etc), with only your fastest relay leg counting.
The list of events for 2008:
1 Regatta Point, 2 Stromlo Forest Park, 3 Anzac Relays, 4 North Lyneham, 5 Mawson, 6 Mount Ainslie, 7 Tuggeranong, 8 Stromlo Forest Park, 9 Cooleman Ridge, 10 ACT Championships, 11 Goorooyaroo, 12 Mill Creek, 13 Googong, 14 Longstaff/Pennington, 15 Runners Shop, 16 Dunrossil Drive, 17 Horse Park Drive.
You may race both short and long races on Saturday afternoon and score points in each.
For results in mixed races (most of the CCC events), female results are tallied seperately (100 points for first place etc). Male results are tallied "overall" (for example, if a female wins the race outright and a male finishes second, the female scores 100 points and the male scores 99 points as the first male in the race, rather than 100).
The final result is based on the runner's best 12 races throughout the season. The age-groups used are the same as the ACT Athletics age-groups (if you are 13 and turn 14 this year, you are in the U16 age-group).
The maximum possible score for the season is 1200 points (100 x 12 races) for 12 wins. In the event of a tie in any age-group, the winner of the perpetual trophy will be the person with the most wins during the season.
