On Saturday, January 12, 1985, the Canadiens'
all-time "dream team" was honoured in a special
ceremony at the Montreal Forum. The event coincided with
the team's 75th anniversary. More than 20,000 ballots
were tabulated to name the members of the team. The fans
selected:
- Goalie Jacques Plante, who played on five
straight Stanley Cup winners from 1956 to 1960
and captured seven Vezina Trophies.
- Defenceman Doug Harvey, eleven times an NHL
all-Star.
- Defenceman Larry Robinson, twice a winner of the
Norris Trophy.
- Centre Jean Beliveau, an extraordinary playmaker
and scorer for 18 seasons.
- Left winger Dickie Moore, a fierce competitor and
two-time NHL scoring champion in the late 1950s.
- Right winger Maurice Richard, who scored 544
regular-season goals and was the first NHL player
to score 50 goals in 50 games.
- Toe Blake, who guided the Habs to eight Stanley
Cups in 13 seasons, was named coach of the dream
team.

- Centre Henri Richard
- Left winger Toe Blake
- Right winger Guy Lafleur
- Coach Scotty Bowman
