Born in 1998 as the flagship competition for British members
of the ITFA, the Chappell Cup has since provided some of the best action the EWFF has
ever seen on the top of a table.
Named after the federation's founders, Mike & Chris Chappell, the cup has
already developed its own history and drama with the Chappell brothers
fighting to the wire to get their hands on the trophy.
In fact the trophy
itself (pictured left) was only commissioned in January 2002, shortly
after Mike Chappell had won his third final late in 2001.
The competition is now contested late on in the year in December, with all of the finals so far played over two legs between the two brothers. As both are Bristol Rovers fans, a compromise was made whereby the Rovers squad is drafted into two separate teams, so that one or the other does not miss out.
