am expecting my first baby in early may. have crossed the marafic line with desert bred. know little of the history. my mare was inbred and found difficulty in finding stud not closely related. best riding horse on the farm is an 18 year old gelding. rd- 4th level dressage but will handle babies like eggs. love the intelligence of the breed...so far. just into horses after my kids left for college...bought a farm for the horses after 7. Your website was like a glimpse into the past for me. I worked at Stonebridge Farms from '85-'88 and knew Dalul, Cedardell Tiffany, and many of their progeny. Perhaps I knew your Drakkar too but it would have been by his 'barn name.' I see by his photos t at he has inherited the best of his parents' good looks, and by knowing them and many of Drakkar's full brothers and sisters I surmise that he would be above average in intelligence and willingness too. It still saddens me that Coles' fine family of Arabi n horses was scattered to the winds - I miss them dearly. It has been such a thrill to see 'familiar faces' on your horses and I feel proud to see one of 'the babies' grown up so fine.

I agree with everyone listed in your guest book in saying this is a wonderful site. I have 3 arabians of my own. I have a 2 year old stallion who is a Witez II/Bask cross. I have a 12 year old mare who is a crabet/egyptian cross who is also a flaxen ch stnut and very striking. The crabet comes from Raffles and the egyptian comes from Ansata Ibn Halima. I am fond of this cross and am looking to breed this cross again. I will be sending you a letter requesting more information on Drakaar for my mare. the Dalul grand daughter that I owned looked exactly, down to the same color mane, like the photo you have of him in this site. I've been told she even had the same attitude to some extent. I no longer have the mare but the boy that bought her off of me has been excelling in his classes. I do have her son though who is also taking after his mother, unfortunately though he does not have the elegant head that she had. I'm awaiting the spring so that I can see if any of the six foals that are to be born l ok like his mother.

I have been an admirer of arabians since a young girl. I used to show arabians for about 12 years. I showed half arab half morgan though. Her name was Czarissa. I was under training with Janie McGee who was trained by Tom Chauncey. I was fortunate to meet with Mr. Tom Chauncey before he died. My love for the breed has only got stronger. I was searching the net to find an affordable western pleasure arabian. Unfortunately I can not afford a 10,000 dollar horse. I only paid 1500. for my half arab an she was the best horse i have ever had. Granted she was not purebreed.
