Processions,contests and other kinds of festivities are not longer possible without the corporation of twirlunions,girls dressed in beautifull clothes while twirling with their batons or pompoms in their hands. They can give every event, in which they are present , a festive touch. The first majorette- en twirlsciety of Alkmaar,"The Victory Stars",formerly known as "de Kousebanden",had o March-1 - 1996 their 25-th Aniversary. "The Victory Stars"started March -1 - 1971.The name Majorettepeloton Alkmaar was changed 3 years later in "The Victory Stars". An other very important year was 1977,the society was extended with a youth-peloton. After some ups and dows,which every society has to go through and some changes in the commite and coaches,this society is still in 1998, very important to Alkmaar. They have a enthousiastic,nice and esspecially solidity group of about 30 girls,and not to forget the very enthousiastic parents,we can always count on them if they are needed,and that is very important to a society. On March -1-1996 we had our 25-th Aniversary in "De Rekere'By tradition we take our members every year out for a trip and not to forget our yearly "garage-sale,to please our treasurer.
