A. A senior from your team, either a swimmer or a diver.
B. Must be in the upper 50% of his or her class academically at the time of nomination (cumulative standings.)
C. Must be a state meet qualifier in at least one individual event.

Procedure for Nomination:

Each school may submit the names of two senior swimmers or divers. Give nomination form and letter of recommenation to the Awards Chairperson at the coaches meeting at the State Meet. The nomination that you, the coach, submits, must be complete at this time except for places and corresponding points.

Criteria for Selection:

The nomination will include the swimmers or divers State Meet individual events (no relays).

No matter if the nominee be a swimmer or a diver, their current cumulative grade point average, class ranking, and percent rank in their senior class must also be on the nomination.

A letter of recommendation must accompany the nomination. This letter should come from a designated school official; principal, vice-principal, counselor, or athletic director - other than the swimming coach. A data sheet should also accompany the nomination listing school and community activities. This material will be used only in the case of a tie in the Total Points for the Senior Scholastic Achievement Award. The president, vice-president, or a secretary/treasurer of the association will determine the winner in case of a tie. All ties for the Academic All-State Team will be listed as such.

The Awards Chairperson will find the swimmers or divers highest place in one individual event to determine Competition Points and add the Academic Points based on the information in the nomination after the state meet.

The nominee receiving the most Total Points will be the winner of the Senior Scholastic achievement Award, and the nominees receiving the next eleven Total Points will also be named to the Academic All-State Swimming Team.
