About Our Club: |
"The Miami Valley TC practices at Yellow Springs HS. It hosts the Jack Mortland Racewalks each Spring (usually on Mother's Day) and the Jack Blackburn Walks (in the fall), as well as several shorter races throughout the year both on the road and track. Elite members of the club include Jill Zenner (Senior Women), and Dan Dalton (Junior Men). Other top walkers include current master and former Olympic trials competitors Jack Blackburn and Chris Knotts. Other top master athletes include Christina Moore, Al Cowen, and Jerry Muskal. Open athletes include Ed Fitch, Dave Johnston, and Derek Griffiths. Other Junior Athletes that have joined 1997 & 1998 USATF Junior Olympic Champion Dan Dalton in earning All American status in Junior Olympics competition include Ana Krohn, Tina Peters, and Eric Smith. Vince Peters in the coach of the club's racewalkers and also coaches the racewalkers at Cedarville College. Top athletes include Jill Zenner and Chad Eder. Zenner, the 1996 NAIA National Champ & 1995 runnerup, also holds the Collegiate and American records for the 3K walk in 13:16. Eder was the 1995 NAIA runnerup and the 1996 Champion. He competed in the 1996 Olympic trials." |
