A US naval intelligence officer, Pollard supplied Israel with vital information about Arab preperations for war which the U.S. was obligated to reveal to Israel anyway. At his trial, despite a plea-bargain agreement in return for a short prison term, Judge Aubrey Robinson gave him a life sentence.
