Profile
Playing at half-centre full forward, Wayne Carey is considered as one of the most valuble player in the club and an inspirational for his teammates.Leaving home at the age of 15 to play football, he has not slowed down to be transformed to be a better footballer. Denis Pagan recorgnised his talent and made him the captain as soon as Pagan was appointed as the coach. He is the one player the opponents as well as the coach will concern about as his ability to mark and kick goal is exceptional.
Recently, he has been selected as 4th best player of the century and the player's player of the year (from the survey by Herald Sun). This is furthermore supported by selection of All-Australian team as well as captain for two consecutive year.
