I have been a Jason Kidd fan since he was in the 10th grade. I saw all his high school games except the out of state games.
He was a man among boys in high school. The greatest player at the high school level ever in the SF bay area replacing Fred LaCour.
I had the previlege of meeting Jasons' dad Steve a couple of times when they lived in the Oakland hills. Jasons high school career was pure excitment. He led St. Joe to back to back state championships.
I consider my collection a high school memobilia including signed posters and sport illustrated
articles to be priceless. I have a photo of Jason and Tanda Rucker when he took her to her Senior prom at Berkeley Hi. He was a junior in HS and she was the Calif. female player of the year and he was the Calif. male player of the year.

I am one of the lucky who got to follow Jason's career starting with his first HS game at St. Joe's HS in Alameda, Ca. He led the Pilots to 2 state titles during his run, and had the whole Bay Area talking. One time, he had a QUINTUPLE-double!
My wife and I decided during Jason's junior yesr that, wherever he went to college and the NBA, THAT would be our team. Now that he plays for a REAL pro franchise (as opposed to Dallas), it's a
whole lot of fun.
Hopefully there won't be a season-long lockout next year, giving Mr. Colangelo a chance to surround his prize point guard with the type of players to get an NBA title or two (or five, or more)!!
