Fan Article: Miami Heat Ratings

Coaching -
Riley hasn't won a NBA championship with Miami yet, but this off season was probably one of the best in
the short life time of the Miami Heat. Riley came into the offseason after another playoff defeat to the New
York Knicks. He relized that it was time for a change so he parted way with his buddys Jamal Mashburn
and PJ Brown. He didn't part ways with them without getting anything in return. Coming back this way was
All-star Eddie Jones, Anthony Mason and Brian Grant. Overall he did a great job this off season bring in 3
new starters to join up with Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway.
Grade: 9.5

Point Guards -
Well Miami with the re-signing of Tim Hardaway(lets hope so) will be right back to where it was the past
year with a better back up in the more experienced Anothny Carter. Tim Hardaway is the key for Miami
Heat in winning a championship this season. If he can go the Heat will do great, but who knows how long
he can hold up.
Grade: 8

Off Guards -
All I have to say is we got the best off guard in the NBA. Eddie Jones has the whole package. Defense and
Offence. He averaged 20.1ppg and he also was the league leader in steals. Ricky Davis, Dan Majerle, and
Dale Ellis with back up Eddie Jones. If Ricky Davis gets a lot better and becomes the back up we hope the
grade could be a 10 but....
Grade: 9

Small Forwards -
Well this is the position that we lack in this year with the loss of Jamal Mashburn. We loss scoring, but we
get more defense with Anthony Mason. Also Mason has better ball handling skills but we will still miss his
scoring. Dan Majerle will back him up.
Grade: 7.5

Power Forwards -
I feel that we got a real steal with Brian Grant. He is a guy that isn't going to give up in a game ever. He is
also a guy who is going to give us a double double each night(10ppg 10rebs). Backing him up in the lineup
will be new additions Todd Fuller and Don Maclean.
Grade: 9

Center -
Alonzo Mourning is the best center in the NBA. Some people will disagree with me, but Alonzo Mourning
has the all around game. Scoring 21.7ppg, 9.5rebs, 3.72blks(NBA leader in blocks). He was 3rd in voting
for MVP. This year I expect the same...hey wait I expect a better Alonzo Mourning this year with the talent
he has around him. I am hoping for another MVP season.
Grade: 10

Overall Grade: 53/60
