NEWS UPDATEUnited take on Stevenage this Friday (30th) after two promising performances against Atherstone and a strong Aston Villa side. The Atherstone game in particular demonstrated that United have much potential. After a dull first half Hinckley created some good openings after the break with fluent penetrating football. Atherstone seemed happy to go away with a draw. There is much speculation about the shape of this seasons side after a lot of summer transfer activity. Dave King has been released and their are suggestions that record United signing John Symonds may struggle to hold down a regular place up front. Ibrahim Bah who was recruited from Shepshed has gone back to our local rivals. Both United and Shepshed got their knuckles rapped by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute after a hostile derby game at the Dovecote last season. The two sides have been drawn against each other in this year's Westerby Challenge Cup - a competition known for its 'physical' local encounters. This is not a particularly popular competition with Hinckley officials at the best of times - and there won't be many looking forward to another game with John Hanna's exiled army.
