Every Tuesday evening I go to  Colonel Brooks Tavern  for my weekly dose of Dixieland administered by the
Federal Jazz Commission

Some photos taken at Colonel Brooks Tavern:

Dancing with Helen Coursen.  She was
a great dancer and loved dirty jokes.
She also smoked a lot in spite of my warnings that she would "die young". Unfortunately she died of cancer and I miss her at Colonel Brooks.
With my neighbor Lane.
(We are not as drunk as it may look.)

Lane has recently married.
Congratulations Lane!

For jazz activities in the Washington DC area check out the
Potomac River Jazz Club web site.

The Red Hot Jazz Archive has a very complete history of Dixieland and Ragtime and you can hear many original recordings (RealAudio) from before 1930.

In Madrid I like the Canal Street Jazz Band

In San Antonio, TX, Jim Cullum's band
