Well, the 1999-baseball season was not the greatest for Ken Griffey, Jr. not to mention the Seattle Mariners. The Seattle Mariners All-Star centerfielder ended the 99 season with a .285 batting average, 48 home run, 134 RBIs, 123 runs, 173 hits, 26 doubles, and 3 triples. If Ken Griffey, Jr. hit his 50th home run this season his 50th homer would also be his 400th homer of his career. Griffey stated that he wanted to be traded from the Mariners to a closer team near his house in Orlando, Florida. The teams that he might be going to are the Reds, Braves, Mets, Marlins, or even possibly the New York Yankees. You imagine how great the Yankees would be with Ken Griffey, Jr. in centerfield robbing home runs over the wall and hitting homers over the right field wall. Note the right field wall in Yankee Stadium is about 314 feet. Right field at Safeco Field is 327 feet a 13-foot difference! Maybe next year if he gets trade to a different ball club he will get another 50 home run year. You never know, maybe he will do worse.
