THE 1998
PRINCETON HOCKEY TOURNAMENT!
I just got back from one of the BEST Hockey
Tournaments I've ever been in! On Friday, we went to Princeton for 2
nights. The first night, We beat Ashcrofe 6-5! Our teams met before
the game, and we all made friends with each other, even though we're
on different teams. The next morning, we played the best game of our
lives, but Hope still won 5-4. That afternoon, we got our first
shutout of the year, we beat winfield 5-0 to advance to the final vs
Hope. That n, there was a Skills Competition. Each team had 2
representatives for Hardest Shot, 3 for Speed/Accuacy Relay, and 1
for Fastest Skater. I was our teams representative for fastest
skater. For the skills, oh Ashcroft, our new friends. I came second,
To a skater from Ashcroft, so It was O.K. We all had fun! The next
morning, Our goalie won top goalie in the shootout, and our
Defenceman won the breakaway cometition. In the 3rd place Game,
Winfield Beat Ashcroft 5-4 in overtime :( . That afternoon, we met
Hope in the 1st place game. 4 of the players frome Ashcroft stayed to
watch our game, So that was cool. But we lost 10-3. Oh well. It Was
An AWSOME TOURNAMENT! I made some friend frome Ashcroft, and
Princeton, and we all had sooooo much fun! You should have heard our
cheering section! It was AWSOME! We had the whole Ashcroft Team
Behind Us! And our Parents Were AWSOME! IT WAS SOOOOOOO
FUN!

I just got back from Nakusp! It
was an AWSOME TOURNAMENT!!!!! Their Rink Is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Almost all Built under ground! The Selkirk Inn Was AWSOME TO!
And The Lord Mintos Reastaurant! I signed their guest book! I woder
if my name and LUMBY RULES will still Be there in a
year!
We didn't win but it was so
fun!. I think we came 4th, tied for 4th, or last out of 5 teams!
We lost all 3 games on
saturday, 5-1 to Castlegar, 3-2 to Kaslo (A nail-biter right to the
end! We played AWSOME!), and 7-0 to Nakusp (First game we were
shutout this year, their goalie was SPECTACULAR!).
This Morning we Finnally won!
We beat Salmon Arm #3 7-5 in a come from behind win! It was 4-1 for
them and we came Back to win it! The 7th goal was an empy netter. But
they only had 8 skaters and 2 goalies on their team.
After the ice clean between the
2nd and 3rd periods, The timkeeper annouced over the P.A. system that
before the period started, the Salmon Arm team wanted to wish Their
Number 12 A Happy Birthday! So our whole team and coaches sung happy
bithday to him before our cheer! I think that They Really appreciated
it! It Sure made us feel good and Put smiles on all the Salmon Arm
players Faces and The Fans Faces And Refs And Everyone!
That game I set up one of our
players' first goals of the year! I gave him perfect pass and went
over the Blue Line and shot and Scored top shelf!
After the game, They announced
that we won The Most Sportsmanlike Team Award! It's the second time
That I've gone to a tournament in Nakusp and the second time we have
won the award! I think sing Happy Birthday sure
helped!
After we went to the Nakusp Hot
Springs! It Was SO FUN!
Nakusp Rules! We finish 1-3 and
We finally won our second game of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT
TOURNAMEN IN NAKUSP WAS THE BEST!!!!!!! I DEFINATLY CANT WAIT TO GO
BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
