Grand Prix Final : Ewe Hock and Hock Kin are semifinalist.

Four shuttlers from Malaysia qualify for men singles event: Rashid, Roslin, Ewe Hock and Hock Kin. They are placed in four different groups. Roslin lost all three matches and did not qualify for the semi-finals. Rashid lost two matches and did not qualify either. Ewe Hock qualifies the semi-finals, but pull out due to mosquito bite. Hock Kin fought Sun Jun in the semi-finals but lost.
