Comments: My father got me interested in football in 1963 when I was 9. We had season tickets from 1966-1972--he in upper deck by 30 yard line of enclosed horseshoe; mine in endzone. When he couldn't go, I used his ticket. I was heartbroken with the 1964 and 1969 championship losses, but Johnny U remains the greatest! We moved out of state in late '72--kept track at a distance from NY, CT and IL. Appalled that the team snuck out of town. Don't feel I have a real team now. Apparently, others feel the same. Glad you and others have these sites. I was sorry that Johnny U opted out of appearing in the 40th anniversary video. His recollections/insights would have been great. I clipped a recent article from Chicago Tribune a few Saturdays ago re: Johnny U. Don't know if you've seen it, and I'm not at home where it is. You may want to look it up. Think it originated elsewhere, but it was within the past 4-6 weeks re: the anniversary of the "Greatest Game" in the sports sections (where else?). Please keep me aware of any other Colts memorabilia. Haven't had a chance to check out all links.

Comments: All the Colts references are from us old geezers! I guess we know a good thing when we see it. Actually, I'm a Vikings fan here to pay respects to one of the most storied of NFL franchises. The Colts WERE the NFL in the late fifties and throughout the six ies. I've admired them ever since they broke my 11 year old heart in the 1968 playoffs. That year they were 13-1 and plowed through the playoffs like a juggernaught, only to grind to a halt in SuperBowl III. Comments: First football game I ever saw was in 1967. Colts/Rams. Unitas was qb for Colts. Roman Gabriel for the Rams. Very violent game. Was more impressed with Unitas than Gabriel, but both QBs almost got killed that day. Saw the 1972 game with Unitas vs Namath. as still impressed with Unitas', ability even at his advanced age. He was truly great and a tough sob.

Comments: Was a huge Colts fan growing up in New Jersey, even though most of my friends were Giants or Jets fans. Super Bowl III still hurts. Johnny U was my man. Also Stormin' Norman Buliach, Mike Curtis, Tom Matte, Bubba, Mad Stork, etc. Never will forget Mike Curtis knocking out fan who tried to take Game Ball, or Stormin' Norman running for 190 + yards against the Jets. The 1958 Colts have the greatest Strat-O-Matic Football Team I've ever seen. Lenny Moore's unbelievable.
