6-2 ATTACK DEFENSE

THE ULTIMATE PRESSURE DEFENSE

O O O O O X O O E B G G B E S S

This is the ultimate defense for 8 man but it may be very complex. You need some very smart kids. Think of this defense as a 2-2-4. Keys The NG are allways in "A" gaps. They always go in a low line charge on all fours, some call it "Bear crawling". The must make sure nothin comes thru the "A" gaps. The Ends are one yard out in two point stance. They have contain but they key the QB or ball. That means that if the flow comes torward the DE he has ball. If it goes away he has the QB in case of a HB pass or bootleg. The LB are up on the line in two point stance and have the TE man/man. They will play hard bump and run. They must be prepared to close down the "B" gap in case it is threatened. If no TE they play 3 yards behind the LOS mirroring their man. The two safeties are like CBs and play man/man on the first back out of the backfield to their side. They are in bump in run all the time so the must be very good athletes. The coverage progression depends on the counterparts and their alignment. LBs are always on TEs and Safeties are on quick recivers. If you have 4 studs that can exchange these coverages you can follow the following coverage progression. SS has #1 strong, SLB has #2strong, WLB has #3 strong and # 2 weak, WS has #1 weak.
